WHAT IS PPT?
DONOT’S
* Dont bring the question papers that are provided by the placement centre to the
PPT.
* Dont ask questions to the company people like why do you include this and that
in the written test. Because this makes company people aware of our question
paper trend.
DO’S
• As soon as you get to know the next company, visit the company’s site
possibly before attending the PPT. Because some questions will be fired on the
audience. And those who answer them will have good impressions.
• Some standard and valid questions are
1.how much do you concentrate on R&D?,
2. If they did not mention about negative marking you can ask them if they
include negative marking in their written?
• Don’t ask them about offers they provide for your higher studies , because it
may make them think that you are interested in higher studies and not the job
and finally they may not prefer you.
• Be very much committed to the PPT and note down the points that are
discussed. It might be questioned in the interview.
WRITTEN:
• Please go through the question papers that are given by the PAT center.
• The preparation will be most effective , when done in groups.
• Don’t leave the question that you can’t solve. Get some faculties’ or friends’
help and enter the written test hall with a knowledge about solution possibly to
all the questions given by PAT centre.
• If you feel that you have copied many answers from your friends. No problem
get to know the solutions of all those questions from those friends whom you
have copied from before entering for the interview, because in many cases the
interviewer may ask you to solve the question paper in front of him.
• Again don’t bring the question papers, materials, books etc., to the exam hall or
any where near by the company people because it will create bad impression on
your self as well as the PAT.
MATERIALS TO BE USED
CAT PAPERS
LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST QUESTION PAPERS GIVEN BY PAT
CENTRE.
DURING PLACEMENTS KEEP TRACK WITH THE GROUP MAIL AND
XEROX CENTRE FOR LATEST PAPERS.
RESUME:
GROUP DISCUSSION:
• What is tested in a group discussion is not exactly the word power but how far
you can convey your thoughts in english , how good and innovative you think ,
how well you respect others and listen to others’ views and thoughts and how
much you know about general things that happen around the globe.
• So remember all the information you get even from a use and throw paper that
carry your snacks.
• Remember it is a discussion and not a debate. So you don’t stick your speech to
for or against the topic. You can put forth your ideas both supporting and
protesting. Never ever fight inside the discussion hall or interrupt when some
one is discussing.
• When you discuss make sure that you watch all others’ eyes and speak. When
some one is speaking look in to one’s eyes. Put your pen tip pointing up and be
brisk making the company people know you are listening to every body. And
note all the points told by who ever it is ( if you feel it a valid one, give
important notation to that point). In many cases you will be asked to summarize
the session, when all those points will come in to use.
• Read the news paper of that day and try to collect as much information as
possible. We will send you some frequently discussed topics.
• Conduct as many mock GDs among your selves as possible.
• Formal dressing is very preferable. And behavioral characters do matter inside
the discussion hall.
INTERVIEW:
TECHNICAL
• Before entering in to a technical interview, make sure that you can recall the
papers of all semesters you had. They will surely ask you to tell the curriculum
of a particular semester.
• Mention more than one area of interest in the resume. And some used to ask
questions except from the areas of interest prescribed. So despite the areas of
interest, brush up all the important papers to an extend that will help you in
answering all the basic questions.
• The right time to prepare is not the night before the interview. So before this
placement fever starts for you, my dear juniors try to brush up all the subjects
and be thorough. We will try to send you frequently asked questions from your
departments.
• PAT centre may not say their correct slot allocated to that company. So get to
know which slot have they been informed as, before entering the interview hall.
• The first question you will be fired at is “TELL ME ABOUT YOUR SELF?”.
Prepare that well and if you create some bad impression in this, it is going to
last long and really long. Answer the question depending upon the situation and
time constraint. They may ask you to answer this question in any given time
limit.
• Be very thorough in the project or the paper presentation you mention in the
resume. If it is a group project they will ask what your part in it is. Its not that
not mentioning any project is going to create a bad impression.
• Drive the interviewer. In most cases no interviewer comes with a prepared set
of questions to be asked. The questions, to be experienced , are taken from your
previous answers only. So answer in such a way that you know explanations of
all the terms you include in your answer. Thoughtfully let all your answers
include your favourite terms. For this you should go with planned preparation.
• Let all your answers follow a practical example that can be easily co related
with the actual definition. I will try to send some of those examples for every
department. Not desperately necessary.
• Be cool in the interview and as you enter and leave the interview hall wish
every one present in there.
• If you cannot answer a question , don’t bluff . say him that you don’t know. but
not directly. You can state as “right now I don’t remember , but I can say you if
i brush up once”.
• They may try to drive you fool. They will tell you that they don’t know any
thing about a topic and ask you to explain them about that. In such cases don’t
take advantage . Because they would have really done doctorate in that. So be
careful with your answers.
• Answer according to the mood of the interviewer. But don’t take more
advantage even if he so is friendly and be in your limits.
• If you are asked to take some thing that is given for them to eat. In most cases
don’t have that and try to convince him that you are comfort able.
• If they ask your weakness , say some thing like communication followed by a
substantiation that you are working at that and you have considerably improved
that and finish it up as you will completely overcome that before entering the
company. They will argue, but be stiff. Don’t say your weakness that does not
go with the company’s development. eg., you cannot go well in groups.
• They will ask you if you will go any where you are placed in. Give only YES as
the answer.
• If the interview gets delayed, they will apologize for tbe delay. In that case
don’t try to be over smart and say that the previous companies made you wait
for a much longer. A classical tackle statement for this is “I can wait for a much
longer time for my career sake”. Prepare answers in this manner such that yours
differ from others’.
• In any situation don’t blame your faculties or the college or your friends for
your ignorance. No one prefers those who blame their own organization.
• Try to collect the questions from those who have been interviewed before , but
not in such a way that it goes to the knowledge of the company people.
• Don’t discuss or form groups any where near the interview panel.
• When you come out of the interview do share your experience with your
privately as mentioned earlier.
• While quitting the interview panel , instead of getting agitated and showing
appropriate gestures try to be simple and humble.
• Don’t keep nurturing whoever is coordinating for all abouts of your interview.
You will informed prior to your interview , in time.
