Employment registration card will be issued on registering your name in Special Employment Cell for reserved vacancies. The secondary card will be sent to the District Employment Office for issue of Secondary Card registration number. Ex-Servicemen with special trades like PT, Drill, Bomb Disposal, NBC, Commando and those who have experience in NSG and RR etc must register themselves separately with the certificates.
WHO IS AN EX-SERVICEMAN?
1. Before 30.06.1968: - Any person who had served in any rank (whether as Combatant or non Combatant) in the Armed Forces of the Union and has been released therefrom otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency 2. Between 01.07.1968 and 30.06.1979: - Any person who had served in any rank (whether as Combatant or non Combatant) in the Armed Forces of the Union for a continuous period of not less than six months after attestation and released therefrom otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency 3. Between 01.07.1979 and 30.06.1987: - Any person who had served in any rank (whether Combatant or non Combatant) in the Armed Forces of the Union for a continuous period of not less than six months after attestation if discharged for reasons other than at their own request or by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency and not less than five years of service if discharged at own request 4. After 01.07.1987: - Any person who had served in any rank (whether as Combatant or non Combatant) in the Armed Forces of the Indian Union and was released / retired with any kind of pension from Defence Budget or released on completion of specific terms of engagement with gratuity otherwise than at his own request or by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency 5. The personnel of Territorial Army (TA) of the following categories, viz., pension holders for continuous embodied service; persons with disability attributable to military service and gallantry award winners retired on or after 15.11.1986

Free training Along with free training in the tailoring institutes, a stipend of Rs.20/- paid per day and raw materials worth Rs.500/- per month will also be issued to use for training. SUBSIDY FOR SELF EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING Loan facilities for ESM and their widows o Reimbursement of 75% of interest on loans availed for self-employment and education upto an maximum of Rs.5 lakhs of loan amount. Reimbursement of 100% of interest on loans availed for self-employment upto a maximum of Rs.7.5 lakhs of loan amount to Self Help Groups. Subsidy of 25% subject to a maximum of Rs.50,000/- on the Industrial Shed / Plot promoted by Ex-servicemen and also to Joint Ventures in which Ex-servicemen has majority stake.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR TRAINING TO ESM AND THEIR DEPENDENTS ESM and their dependents were paid an amount of Rs.1,250 to Rs.1,500 per annum for teacher training and driving courses. Scholarships may also be availed for various Professional / Technical / Vocational and Academic courses. GRANTS FROM CENTRAL GOVERNMENT FOR SELF-EMPLOYMENT Loan for a maximum amount of Rs.10 lakhs through nationalized banks for agriculture and allied purpose. Loan up to a maximum amount of Rs.10 lakhs through ( KVIC / KVIB ) Nationalised banks.
School Education The wards are paid a scholarship from Rs.500/- to Rs.1,500/- for their school education. The wards of the war deceased and the war disabled are given a special grant of Rs.1,000 to Rs.1,500 including uniform and book allowance.
Higher Education The wards of the ESM who undergo Arts and Science courses are given a scholarship from Rs.2,000/- to Rs.2,500/ Rs.10,000/- for professional courses and its higher studies and Rs.7,500/- for diploma courses and Rs.2,500/- for certificate courses are given as educational grant. Hostel fees A maximum of Rs.4,000/- p.a. is been paid as hostel fees for those stay in hostel for their education.
Reservation o Special quota is been provided in Agriculture, Engineering and Medical Colleges, ITIs and teacher training institutes and Nursing.

Annual maintenance grant of Rs.12,000/- to the next of kin of Defence Personnel killed and to the Personnel disabled in war / war-like operations for life time 4. Allotment of Army Surplus Vehicle SPECIAL BENEFITS BY TAMIL NADU STATE GOVERNMENT 1. War service incentive to the parents who have sent their only son or daughter/ more than one son or daughter to Defence Forces. 2. Compassionate appointment to one family member in state government job for the personnel who die in war or while in service 3. Special quota for the wards of the personnel who die in war and related activities in admission to Medical and Engineering Colleges. CONCESSIONS FROM CENTRAL GOVERNMENT (KSB / DGR) 1. Priority in telephone connection for the gallantry awardees, war widows the war disabled and Ex-servicemen. 2. 75 % concession in rail travel in II Class to war widows. 3. Free rail travel in I and II class (with A/C) for PVC,AC, MVC, KC, VC & SC awardees and their widows 4. 75 % air travel concession for the war widows of PVC, MVC, VC and KC awardees and to the disabled in 1962, 1965, 1971 wars and during IPKF activities GRANTS THROUGH RMDF (UPTO THE RANK OF HAVILDAR) 1. Penury grant of Rs.1,000/- per month to the ESM and their widow. 2. Marriage grant of Rs.16,000/- for one daughter of the ESM and their widows and also for widow re-marriage 8
3. Financial assistance of Rs.20,000/- to ESM and their widows towards house repair 4. Educational assistance of Rs.1,000/- per month to Wards of ESM and their widows till their graduation. The assistance is extended till post graduation for the widows. 5. Rs.20,000/- are paid to 100 % disabled wards of ESM and their widows and the orphan daughters of all ranks, and the disabled who are affected by natural calamities. 6. Motorized tri-cycle for the disabled ESM 7. Assistance of Rs.1,000/- per month to orphan daughters and to orphan son till their 21 yrs of age 8. One time training grant of Rs. 20,000/- for widows. 9. Grant of Rs.1,000/- p.m. to join in National Defence Academy 10. Rs.1,000/- per month grant for the disabled children. 11. Rs.5,000/- as funeral grant 12. Medical grant of Rs.30,000/BENEFITS FROM OTHER FUNDS 1. Grants to widows through AWWA and DAPWO. 2. Grants through Army Central Welfare Fund, Mardras Regiment Thiruvathirai fund and Indian Airforce Benevolent Fund to ESM / Widow 3. Special grant for non-pensioners who are not eligible for ECHS 4. Rs.15,000/- medical grant for non-member of ECHS 5. St.Dunstan grant for the war blind ESM MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE FOR AMALGAMATED FUND The committee functions with His Excellency, The Governor as the Chairman, approves sanction of scholarships and benefits. Additional Secretary, Ministry of Defence is a member of the committee. STANDING SUB COMMITTEE FOR AMALGAMATED FUND This Sub Committee functions with the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu Government as its Chairman. STATE SOLDIERS, SAILORS, AIRMEN BOARD State SSA Board functions with His Excellency, the Governor as Patron. Minister of ESM as the Chairman. Chief Secretary as the Vice Chairman, Central and State Government officers as the official members and one Member of Parliament, one MLA, and three Ex-Service Officers, Vice President of DSSA Board as non-official members in this board. This board meets once a year.
This committee functions with the Director of ESM as the Chairman, Director Resettlement Zone, South as a member and Joint Director as the Secretary Committee decides about sanction of various grants and construction proposals. DISTRICT SOLDIERS, SAILORS, AIRMEN BOARD This board in each district functions for the welfare of the ESM and their dependents. The board functions with the District Collector as the President, one Ex-ServiceOfficer as the Vice President, four to six ESM as members. All district officers are official members of the board. The board meets once a year. DIVISIONAL LEVEL SSA COMMITTEE In each division the RDO function as the president of the Committee with one JCO as Vice president and three PBORs as members. Divisional level Government officers form the official members of this Committee. This Committee meets once in 6 months. Approach your District Office to become a member of this COMMITTEE

ESM who have registered themselves in TEXCO will be appointed in Central and State Government Public Sector units like ONGC, BSNL, IOC, TNEB, Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation etc, and government departments like District Collectors Office, Secretariat etc for minimum wages fixed by DGR. Free training, medical allowance, gratuity, uniform etc, will be provided to them. Presently 9200 ESM are employed in this corporation
