Instructions:
1. Group I and Group II questions should be answered in the Main Answer book. 2. In all questions of Group I, the subdivision (a) carries 3 marks each and subdivision (b) carries 4 marks each. 3. Answer any SIX questions in Group I. 4. Answer any ONE question in Group II. 5. Answer all questions in Group III multiple choice type questions (which will be given to the candidates half an hour before the scheduled close of the examination) should be answered only in the space provided in the Main Answer Book..

1. Print the following statements in free hand, vertical single stroke having 5mm and 10mm height. A. A to Z (Capital Letters) B. A to Z (lower case) C. 0 to 9 D. Neatness and accuracy are the hallmarks of drawing works E. DRAWING IS THE LANGUAGE OF ENGINEERS 2. Answer any two questions: A. The diagram shown in Fig.1 is wrongly dimensioned. Redraw the figure and dimension it as per IS. B. Copy the view shown in Fig.2 and dimension as per IS. C. The diagram shown in Fig.3 is wrongly dimensioned. Redraw the figure and dimension it as per IS.

3. The pictorial view of an object is shown in Fig.4. Draw the following views to full size scale. a) Front view in the direction of arrow. b) Left side view. c) Top view. 4. Draw the development of the duct shown in Fig.5

5. Read the dimensioned drawing shown in Fig. 6. Redraw the figure to full size and dimension it as per Indian standards.

6. The vertex of a hyperbola is 65mm from its focus. Draw the curve if the eccentricity is 3/2. Draw a normal and a tangent at a point on the curve, 75mm from the directrix. 7. A circle of 50mm diameter rolls along a straight line without slipping. Draw the curve traced out by a point P on the circumference, for one complete revolution of the circle. Name the curve and draw a tangent and normal to the curve at a point on it 40mm above the straight line. 8. Draw a helix of 72mm pitch for one revolution around a right circular cylinder of 60mm and height 72mm. Also show the plan of the helix. 9. Draw an arc of radius 15mm touching two straight lines making angle of 60 degrees. 10. a. Draw a pentagon and hexagon with side 30mm by using same method. b. Draw a parabola with distance of focus at 50mm. 11.a. Construct an external tangent to tow circles of diameter 60mm and 30mm respectively, whose centers are located 70mm apart. Show all the construction lines clearly. b. Divide a line of length 63mm into 5 equal parts. Also show the constructional details clearly. 12. a. Construct a pentagon by perpendicular bisector method having 40mm side. b. Draw an arc of radius 15mm touching the two straight lines making an angle of 70o between them. 13. Draw an Ellipse given the following: 1) Distance of the focus from the directrix is 30mm 2) Eccentricity = . 14. Draw an Epicycloid having a generating and directing circle of 40mm and 180mm diameter. Also draw tangent and normal at any point on the curve.
