    The teacher greets students, introduces herself, marks the absentees, checks homework and asks two or three students to read it auto-correct it or asks the others to correct the possible mistakes. The teacher shows her students two pictures; asks questions, eliciting from the students answers that lead to the conclusion that Britain is a multicultural society with many different ethnic and religious groups represented in its population and, as a consequence there are many more festivals and religious events than there used to be. The teacher announces the students the title of their lessonLets celebrate and the main objectives and writes the title on the blackboard. Students have to write in their notebooks from the blackboard. The teacher tells her students the events they are going to read and talk about, writes them on the blackboard and asks them if they know some representative words, facts about the events. Teacher writes the students answers on the blackboard and the students write in their notebooks.

    The students receive worksheet no. 1 which contains a chart they have to fill in according to the information they have to look for in their texts. They have to work in groups of 3 in order to complete the task.
