School Happenings
Thank you to all of you who came out and supported the PTO by attending the Chili Supper. We are already making plans and having discussions about how best to spend the money to improve our school environment for the students. We profited more than $4,000! Just a reminder to please return the coke crates as soon as you can. We have to return these to Coke to avoid being charged for them. You can send them back in with your child or bring them in anytime during the school day. We are stacking them up in the front foyer area of the school. Also, please make arrangements to pick up your drinks if you have not yet done so. Drinks may be picked up anytime during the school day or tomorrow (Friday) until 5:00 p.m. Reminder If you need child care on October 24th or 25th you must sign up by tomorrow, October 18th. There will be no late admittance on these two days. FFA Pumpkin Carving Event Change Did you sign up for your child to attend this event on Saturday? There has been a change in the location. The event will no longer be located at the Dale Park. It has been moved to Heritage Hills High School behind the Agriculture building. There will be orange cones helping you find it. The day and time remain the same October 20th @ 2:00. This is a free event for all students in grades K-3.

Parent-Teacher Conferences
As you get ready to meet with your childs teacher during the upcoming conferences, here are a few things to keep in mind. First, please know that our teachers are happy to meet with you throughout the year as needed. 1. Holding conferences on one scheduled day is really an antiquated method of holding conferences. With the technology available to us today, our teachers are accessible in many ways. That being said, we do enjoy the opportunity to meet face to face in a private, close setting. 2. Be a partner. Teachers and parents share a common goal: they both want students to succeed. Stay informed about what is going on in the classroom and learn about the curriculum expectations. 3. Dont be afraid to ask questions. Teachers are experts in their field and often times use jargon that makes no sense to parents. Ask for clarification when needed.
