If your swimmer is 12 years or younger, you will need to set up an appointment for a assessment swim. This is for PIPs, Nehi and Orange. If your swimmer is 13 years or older, you should call to discuss current ability and if there is a need for an assessment swim.

YWNC Swim Team Programs The YWNC Piranhas are a year round YMCA competitive swim team. We are sanctioned by the YMCA and USA Swimming. This means that YWNC Piranha swimmers compete in both YMCA and USA competitions. We have found this provides our swimmers the opportunity to compete at the best level for their abilities. The YMCA provides the team with structure based on the Y mission and four core values. The Piranhas practice group structure is designed by the coaches to help all swimmers to develop and be challenged no matter what their ability may be. There is a place for every ability level of swimmer to be challenged and flourish. In addition to the full team program, the Piranhas also offer pre-team Pips and masters programs. The PIPs (Piranhas in Progress) group is for 4-6 year olds. It meets two days a week, M+W, for 45 minutes, in two10 week sessions. This program runs 7/ Oct-11/Dec and 20/Jan-26/Mar at Reuter Y. Class is limited to 10. A swimming assessment is a pre-requisite for entry. The Masters program offers training sessions at our Downtown, Reuter and Hendersonville locations. This group is made up of adults with a variety of swimming backgrounds who are seeking a structured swimming environment with an experienced coach.
All swimmers must be a member of the YMCA. There is an annual $67 per swimmer registration fee that goes to USA Swimming for registration. Swim team program fees are drafted monthly from September to May (pro-rated for late season starts) or may be paid in one lump sum payment. Swim meet fees for Nehi and Orange groups are paid as the meets come up. They range from $30-35 for one day, $35-45 for two days , $45-55 for three days and $55+for four days if needed. Meet fees for advanced/committed group swimmers are included in 9 monthly drafts.
