Its a Japanese sports entertainment show in wich 100 competitors attemp to complete a four stage obstacle course.

is screened in at least 18 countries. In mexico it appears on tv azteca

The show hosts a broad spectrum of participants. While most are amateur athletes from Japan, national television personalities and Olympians from other countries, including the USA,Bulgaria, China and Korea, have taken part in the competition. Some of the more enthusiastic competitors dress up in costumes, bring props to the starting stage, or show off some of their talents. Shot on location at midoriyama studio in yokohama. Each 3 hours special covers an entire competition; The 4 stages proof their strength, agility, dexterity, coordination and speed within time limit without going out of the bounds or coming into contact with the water (with the exception of the 3d stage, that hasnt time limit because the competitioners bring their physical strength to the limit) The challenges in each competition are different as well as the time limit First stage: the opportunity is givine to 100 participants, but a few pass the first challenges, the maximum number of competitioners that have passed this stage are 37. The time changes depending on the challenges presented, generally this stage should be completed within 90 seconds. Some of the first stage obstacles are the barrel climb, rolling log, balance bridge, rope climb, quintuple step, among others. This course primarly tests ones speed Hold on tight because the log rotates around its longitudinal axis, jump from a platform to other and so on, Second stage: this stage is even more grueling, The obstacles determine the time limit, and it is usually between 50 and 100 seconds Spider walk, wall lift, the reverse conveyor (craw very fast), brick climb, (slide through a chain) chain reaction(The competitor must ride two perpendicular zip-lines over a pit of water, switching between them in midair) , balance tank (The competitor must balance atop a large rolling barrel and ride the barrel to a platform across a distance of 5.4 meters) Third stage: this stage has no time limit, allowing contestants to go at their own pace. Contestants are allowed a few seconds of rest between obstacles during which they can apply "sticky spray" to improve their grip. While the first two stages focus on speed and agility, this course almost exclusively tests one's upper body strength and stamina. The Third Stage is so grueling that, on average, someone passes it only every other competition. Only 22 individuals have ever passed it, and only four have passed it more than once. Fourth stage: The Final Stage's time limit is between 30 and 45 seconds. to claim victory, only 23 have been admitted to the final stage, and only four of them have gotten there more than once. To date, the Final Stage has known six forms. Each of these share a single, common goal: to scale the tower and reach the button at the top before time expires. 24 meters in 30 seconds
