Centre (MCEC) well connect you to everything
you need for a successful event award-winning
in-house catering, river views, leading technology
and amazing spaces, supported by an experienced
team to bring your event together.
Our Exhibition Bays provide an unrivalled
30,000sqm pillarless space the largest
in the Southern Hemisphere and are
conveniently linked to the Melbourne
Convention Centre via a covered walkway.
Clarendon Room forms a magnifcent dining,
entertaining or meeting space with foor-to-ceiling
windows offering sweeping views of Melbourne.
Plenary is a multi-functional space at the heart
of MCEC which can accommodate large-scale
events or be divided into three smaller plenaries.
Melbourne Room offers breathtaking views
of the city skyline and Yarra River.
Our 52 meeting rooms provide plenty
of choice, offering an array of sizes,
locations and confgurations.
For certain events, complimentary auxiliary
rooms are available including Organisers Offces,
Speaker Preparation Rooms and Dressing Rooms.

Melbourne Convention Centre
The spaces in the Melbourne Convention Centre can
accommodate all kinds of events from intimate meetings
to world-touring concerts and international conventions.
Ground Floor
Plenary
With its brilliant design and adjustable walls, MCECs
Plenary can accommodate large events or be transformed
into three self-contained plenaries. A fat foor can be
created for gala dinners and other events. This space is
supported by green rooms and VIP suites so speakers
and performers have the preparation areas they need.
Main Foyer
With an 18-metre glass faade offering incredible
views across the Yarra River, this space is perfect
for networking, catering, exhibitors and more.
Media Centre
For high-profle events, our Media Centre can be used
to hold press conferences, conduct interviews or give
the media a dedicated working space during the event.
Level One
Level One Foyer
With natural sunlight and river views this
open-plan space can be tailored to suit your
event needs, ranging from dinners to exhibitions.
Link to Hilton Melbourne South Wharf
MCEC is the only centre in Australia to offer
on-site accommodation, with the fve-star Hilton
Melbourne South Wharf directly connected to
the venue via a private internal walkway.
Meeting spaces
On Level One we offer meeting spaces of various
sizes, appropriate for anything from a small meeting
of 18 people to a large event of 480 attendees.
Level Two
Melbourne Room
As the only banquet room of its size in Melbourne
to feature stunning foor-to-ceiling views of the
city, the Melbourne Room is ideal for gala dinners,
banquets, business events or exhibitions. It can
also be separated into two smaller spaces.
Level Two Foyer
This space offers a unique view of Melbourne, day
and night. Whether your attendees are walking a red
carpet, networking over lunch or enjoying pre-event
drinks, this is the perfect place for them to connect.
Meeting spaces
On Level Two, you can choose from 20 individual
meeting spaces, some of which can be combined
to create larger areas. These meeting rooms can
accommodate between 18 and up to 2300 attendees.
Foyer spaces are the perfect addition to MCECs meeting rooms. 5 4

The Melbourne Exhibition Centre offers an amazing range
of spaces to choose from. Theres room for thousands
in our Exhibition Bays a pillarless, air-conditioned
space that can be divided into sections. It connects
you with everything you need: a loading dock, cafs
and kiosks, even Hospitality Suites that let you work
behind the scenes or store materials and equipment.
You can also choose from various meeting spaces
including the Clarendon Auditorium which is ideal
for small conferences or exhibitions, meeting
rooms which are perfect for small events or dinners,
and the Clarendon Room which offers incredible
views of Melbournes skyline.

1. Concourse
A carpeted and air-conditioned concourse runs
the entire length of the northern side of the
Melbourne Exhibition Centre and provides direct
access to each Exhibition Bay and car park
Three-phase power at all internal and external doors
Single phase power at all internal doors
Internal link to the Melbourne Convention Centre.
2. Exhibition Bays
Main Features
30,000sqm of air-conditioned, pillarless space
the largest in the Southern Hemisphere
Can be divided into fve separate bays via
four operable walls at 13 location points
Space confguration from 3000sqm to
30,000sqm in 1500sqm increments.
Roof System
Trusses spanning 84m width
Clear height of 11.5m and maximum
height of 18m between trusses
Display loads of up to 10 tonnes spread
over 400sqm can be supported
1260 hanging points to hold up to 50kg.
Services
Fed to primary foor pits and plant areas via basement
service tunnel running the entire building length
Essential services provided to all exhibition spaces
single and three-phase power, telephone, fax,
computer and communications outlets, water,
compressed air, drainage and waste disposal
Each pit is ftted with six voice/data jacks that
enable voice and data traffc at speeds of up
to 10Mb/s, web broadcasting and ISDN
Access to these services is provided by a
network of foor pits on a 9m x 6m grid
Access to power and communications is available
from secondary pits on a 6m x 3m grid
There are 600 primary and 1080 secondary pits
Audio, video and data cabling allow room-end
to room-end connectivity
Controlled lighting throughout
Public address and paging facilities
operate from each Organisers Offce
Each of the fve divisible exhibition bay areas
include self-contained food service facilities.
Live Load Capacity
The main exhibition space has a design live load of
20Kpa (or 2 tonnes per sqm). This allowance caters for:
A fully laden road vehicle
1m of soil coverage (18Kpa)
2m of water coverage (20Kpa)
Multi-level displays.
3. Loading Dock
The Loading Dock is 45m wide and extends the
entire length of the south side of the building.
Accommodates up to 40 semi-trailers at once
Ten loading access doors extend along
the length of the building
Eight roller doors between the loading
dock and the Exhibition Bays have a clear
opening of 7m high and 8m wide
The two east end loading bays have bi-fold doors
with a clear opening of 6.879m high x 7.4m wide.
4. Auxiliary Spaces
Organisers Offces
Along with your Exhibition Bays, youll be provided
with a complimentary Organisers Offce, giving
you direct access to the exhibition foor as well
as public address and paging facilities.
Hospitality Suites
Youll also have access to a Hospitality Suite on
Level Two of the Melbourne Exhibition Centre which
is ideal for small seminars or exhibitor functions.
Kiosks
We provide pay-on-the-day public food services
through our kiosks and were happy to discuss specifc
menu options once the event has been licensed.

This magnifcent space features foor-to-ceiling
windows that offer sweeping views of Melbourne.
Its perfect for a range of events including banquets,
cocktail functions and breakfast meetings.
Clarendon Rooms (Level Two & Five)
Whether youre hosting a small meeting,
presentation or dinner, the Clarendon meeting
rooms can accommodate between 15 and 230
attendees. Most of these spaces are naturally lit
and include a range of pre-installed technology.

With MCECs up-to-date technology youll fnd the
latest audio-visual, communication and information
technology equipment throughout the centre.
Pre-installed equipment in every room
Every meeting room includes pre-installed technology
including a high defnition projector or displays, a PA
system and a presentation computer*. You can also
choose from a range of additional extras including radio
microphones, presenter timers and custom lectern
signage. In addition, video conferencing (ISDN and IP),
event recording and video streaming are also available. We
can connect you to whatever you need.
Free Wi-Fi for visitors
MCEC provides free Wi-Fi for all visitors with a service
that can handle up to 15,000 simultaneous users.
Of course, if youd prefer a more tailored package
you can upgrade to our Platinum Wi-Fi service. This
offers unrestricted internet access including video
streaming that can be custom-designed for your event.
Help is close at hand
From a central control room, our team of technology
experts can give you remote assistance and support.
So if you need backup or advice, its never far away.
MConnect with MCEC
Our web-based smartphone and tablet application gives
visitors access to venue maps, whats on at MCEC, live
event-specifc content and Melbourne tourism information.
Control the room from your Intelligent Lectern
MCECs Intelligent Lectern is your personal command
centre. It gives you control of the rooms lighting,
climate and technology, and puts remote assistance
at your fngertips.
In-house technology team
Our in-house technical support team is well versed
in designing technology and lighting and can set up
equipment to suit any requirements.
At the start of your event well help you load your
presentation and show you how to operate the
Intelligent Lectern. You may consider adding a roving
technology assistant to provide immediate help if
required, or arrange in-room control with dedicated
operators for additional control and confdence.
