Experienced Management Team Committed to Keep the Dream Alive for Players
Spring & Summer Football League Gives Fans Something to Cheer About After the Super Bowl
(San Diego - February 25, 2015) Every day they live and breathe football. And every day they dream of making an
NFL roster. However, every year approximately 900 to 1,000 of them who report to NFL training camps get cut.
They have the ability, but need the opportunity to continue playing to improve their game in hopes of making an
NFL roster the following year. Where do they go? The new United States Football League (USFL) has the answer.
"Our objective is to prepare players for - and not compete in any way with - the NFL," said USFL President and Chief
Executive Ocer Jim Bailey. "We are guided by an exceptional and passionate board with executive experience
from the NFL oces, nine dierent NFL teams, player representation, media, and marketing, all committed to
making this League a reality.
Bailey, who served as Executive Vice President of the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens National Football
League franchises for 21 years, added "There is growing recognition among NFL coaches, front oces and sports
media of the need for a professional developmental football league. This League will keep the pipeline of talent
owing by giving young players time to mature through continued coaching and playing, much like Triple-A baseball
and the NBA D-League.
A spring/summer season, consisting of 8 teams playing a fourteen game schedule, will conclude with a four team
playo and championship game prior to the start of NFL training camps. American football is the most popular
spectator and television sport in the USA. The USFL will ll a void on the football calendar for the millions of fans
who otherwise would be in hibernation for six long months, Bailey said.
The USFL will operate as a single entity, owning 100% of all the teams to ensure that the Leagues vision is not
compromised by individual team owners seeking to gain a competitive advantage. Bailey emphasized that "the
League will kick o only when we are fully capitalized for the long run. We have a well thought out business plan
and a unique proprietary nancing plan to provide our long term capital. We are not in a race to get started; we
want to make sure we produce a quality football product nanced to last.
All the pieces are in place. We are now looking for a strategic partner who shares our passion to provide
opportunity and hope for players to 'Keep the Dream Alive.'
