Intramurals
The intramural games started by a parade with faculty teachers, students
and all of the pre-service teachers in Laboratory School. They have color coding in uniform: white and green for freshmen, blue for sophomores, yellow for juniors and red for seniors. All pre-service teachers wear their torch bearer shirt. After, the parade, they also have a small program to officially open the intramurals by the principal of LHS, Dr. Helene D. Daya. In the afternoon, they have a cheer dance competition and all of the competitors are very prepared to show their talents and represent their teams or their year level. In high school category, the champion is the 4 th year students or the seniors while in elementary category, the champion is the blue team where we are the facilitator and the choreographer of their presentation. Most of the games started on that day. Pre- service Mapeh teachers were assigned in different sports. We have volleyball, basketball, soccer, sodoku, badminton, athletics, swimming, chess, tennis and others. We are assigned in tennis and it will start on the 2 nd day of intramurals. We have elementary and secondary level: single and doubles for men and women category. All participants were competitive to fight and represent their year level. Furthermore, tennis started in elimination game of elementary and secondary category. We are the official of the game and we are the lines men and the teachers were the umpire of the game. It is hard to finish this game immediately because the players of tennis also joined in other sports. We are waiting the availability of the players before we start the game but when we waiting, the school provides snacks for all the official of this activity. We studied the rules and regulations of tennis to be able to comply to the needs of the game and this is our duty to be a lines men but still we observed the game and we learned something new that we can use in our teaching profession especially we are having physical education in Mapeh. I determined the difference between the single and double elimination. The game of lawn tennis finished until the 3 rd game of every individual or what we called championship. It happened on the 3 rd day of intramurals because of such many factors to consider. Happy with the new experience!
