Grass by Samuel O. Kuye: Beauty Is Never Boring To Men of Round and Sound Mind
By Samuel O. Kuye
Its to the glory of God! Grass is beautiful. Grass is mostly green, radiating,
abounding, saucy substantial gift of nature. A lawns empowered to arrest the
ocular intellect of every aesthete simply because of grass. The God almighty
spoke grass into being. That is, God spoke the beautiful into manifestation. If
every man will be sincere beyond self-denial of common instinct, he will
confess the desire for becharming maiden to match, marry or mate. Its hard to
detest beauty. Paradise is in fact more desirable for its beauty beyond mans
descriptive vocabulary.
Beauty is never boring to men of round and sound mind. Can men be beautiful?
Oh yes! They can and they are. But in the nook of the instinct of every woman
true to truth is a desire for a beautiful man, better described, handsome man.
The same thing can be said about the beauty aspect of nature. Actually, even the
dangerous aspect of nature often mix the terror in mans mind with some
delight. Nature is beautiful, dangerous or not! The vegetal parts are the most
exciting to mans sight. Oh grass is beautiful and enviable. If, in that regard, a
man or a woman is describe as grass, oh what an exciting beauty thatll mean. It
is true that grass may mean a betrayal, or a mole and green may mean unskilled
or
foxy.
Nevertheless,
grass
beautifies
lawn.
Apart from its beautifying grace, grass is good for mankind in various ways: as
food, for example, cereals foods and sugarcane; as herbs or material needed in
manufacturing some products. It is a very lovely part of the earth. It was God,
according to the Bible who spread grass on the earth lawns. Genesis 1:11, And
God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit
tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it
was so.
Grass is also described as food for man and animals. Deut. 11:15 And I will
send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full. Man is
omnivorous. Some animals are carnivorous and others are herbivorous. But
without grass the carnivorous will die a pitiable death. One may be tempted to
hate the predators in the jungle such as the cats: leopard, cheetah, jaguar, lion
and so on; or those I call the dogs such as fox (omnivorous), wild dogs, hyena
and so on. We see them as killing the preys which are innocent or harmless
living things. When theres no more grass, the preys migrate away from the
region of the predators. The killers will be threatened with hunger and they may
kill from their individual species. Theres no innocent prey as far as we know
that grass as plants have life or are living things. So, the prey devours the grass
and the predator devours the prey. Sustenance in the jungle is all thanks to grass
which sustains the herbivorous. In the civil world grass also sustains life. I
KINGS 18:5, And Ahab said unto Obadiah, Go into the land, unto all fountains
of water, and unto all brooks: peradventure we may find grass to save the horses
and
mules
alive,
that
we
lose
not
all
the
beasts.
If we are grass, in that sense, then we sustain life. We contribute to the sojourn
of many lives- making them happy and strong- giving them hope and reason to
live on. Is it not good to be a generous helper to people? Grass does not
withhold from anyone who comes seeking help, as long as grass can be of help.
I dont think God will be displeased with anyone who helps others since we are
instructed to be good to our neighbours. Grass is tender. 2 SAMUEL 23:4, And
he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning
without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining
after rain. The fact that they spring forth shows how productive or fertile the
grass make the earth to be.
Also, the grass is undeniably colourful. A lawn will arrest the eyes of humans as
long as it is filled with green (healthy) grass. The glory of the grass is possible
in the fact that it is a group of uncountable lives existing together in harmony,
joining their forces to make a striking beauty. Grass in this sense show us the
importance of unity, fellowship and love. Oh that man in this regard be grass,
and together, they can beautify the world, selflessly!
Many Christians exhibit the grassic characteristics that are lovable. Many do
not come near grass-ness. There is many a church that is grassic- beautiful place
of worship, beautiful people, lovely children, growing and gracing in unity,
beaming in their environment, bighearted and helping lives. They spring up as
grass. Halleluyyah to God! When people see and hear them on visual media,
hear about them or hear them on the radio, read about them in books and print
media or read their books, dream about them and meet them or attend such a
church, it is an encounter with glory gaga. "Let your light shine before men in
such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is
in heaven (Matthew 5:16). The beauty of a lawn when beholden without
familiarity must make a beholder a wonderer.
People go to grassy field at dusk to refreshen themselves. Lovers go to a grasscovered or flower-covered field to enkindle passion of their hearts. So, grass
provides avenue for people to freshen, refreshen, enkindle and rekindle lives
and hopes into themselves or one another. This is so good and lovely of grass.
Many Christians are so good and approachable. Theyre at peace with people
and can provide comfort and counsel for people. Many a church is a solution
ground to the problems of many a son or daughter of Adam and Eve being
afflicted or confounded. Can we then say that it is Gods delight that His
children, Christians be grass? Will God not bless grassic Christians with
adequate beauty and freshness and enrich them enough to bless humanity as
much as possible? He will!

Grass, however, is not be best that Christians can or should be. We must note
that constant stepping on or sitting on a section of a grassy area of land will
soon make the grass there to vanish possibly into oblivion. It then becomes
important to mollify the contestability of the fact of the inadequacy of
Christians being grassic.
*Grass is weak! It can be easily trampled upon into death and disappearance.
Despite the unity of grassy it can be easily conquered by the passing of legs on
it. There are paths today that are not cleared with cutlasses or any other but with
its time to tell people to show themselves to priests and he knows when to tell a
person to go and tell no one about him. He will always return all glory unto
God. Many Christians have become so carried away about the glory of God that
is manifesting in their lives or ministries such that they now proclaim
themselves rather than God. Giving testimony will require the telling of Gods
goodness in a way that I referring to the testifier must be used but it all must
lead people to put their hope and trust in God. The purpose of testimony is to
strengthen the faith in/of others in God- in the ever-potent name and blood of
Jesus and love of God not to show prudence, erudition and accomplishments of
self. In the case of grass, it is not the one showing itself. The glory is so elevated
that it cannot be covered yet man still often fix the glory of grass on grass, on
nature and man himself rather than God. Well, humanists will not see anything
bad in that but Biblicaliticists or Scripuralistsmust always know, Isaiah 42:8, I
am the LORD, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My
praise to graven images.
Grass is easily uprootable! Without cutlass, with bare hands, many kinds of
grass
can be easily uprooted. The root goes down the ground and may go deep but
not strong and firm enough. Apart from the case bamboo and its kinds, the
foundation of grass isnt firm enough. Imagine a Christian that is easily cut
away by an unbeliever. Many things can uproot the faith of some believers.
Some of these are mentioned below:
advice, materials (money, cars, aircraft, houses, Television, laptops, clothes,
gold); food, drugs and drinks; erotism (beauty, woman, man, buxomness,
hugeness, giftedness); intellectuality, education, reverence, profession, parents,
job, career, research and publications, philosophy or science; child (ren) and
child bearing, spouse, friends; fear, death, needs, sickness and anything
imaginable and achievable. If any of these can easily or at all shake, move or
uproot ones faith, one is only a grassic Christian. Has any of the above-listed
possibilities moved me such that I feel reluctant to move on? When the good is
yet to come, the grass is dying and when the bad stayed longer the grass is
dying. Whether the good, desired, is yet to come or the bad, pleasant or
all grassically good. However, they are unstable. They do not last in faith. They
wither and become the pitiable story of a fallen hero of history of faith. Dear
God, in Your mercy, in Your Love and Grace and Favour with the help of the
Holy Ghost, I pray that you secure our future in Christ Jesus- in Jesus name.
Amen. Jesus, you noted that Satan wanted to blast Peter away and you prayed
for his stability and perpetuity in Yo, that his faith may not be betrayed. Help us
Lord, hold our hands till we get to reign with You for life. Amen!
Finally on grass, it is a metaphor for men and flesh. Christians are gods (So,
God is God of gods). They are spiritual (born of the Spirit, eternal). So,
Christians should not be grass. Let us see the scripture. Isaiah 40:6-8, The
voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the
goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withereth, the flower
fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is
grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall
stand for ever. So, if men are grass, they will fade away and perish but
Christians are gods established in Christ not to fade or wither. Gods dont
grumble, gods find a way, and they act. Let us give special attention to Isaiah
51:12, Even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be
afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as
grass. Man shall be made grass. He is grass. Grass is beautiful and useful
personally and economically but we see how temporal it is. James 1:10-11, But
the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass
away. For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the
grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth:
so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways. The rich in this sense refer to
the man glorying in Gods glory as if it is men own (his own). That is, man that
lives without being mindful and respectful of God is as grass. 1Peter 1:24, For
all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass
withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away. All flesh is grass! The glory of
man is as the flower of grass, beautiful, flourishing, and attractive. It is as grass
because it shall soon fade. Nebuchadnezzars glory, Lincolns glory or
Moshood Abiolas glory all fade with time. They are being remembered but
only thanks to days labeled on them. The exploits done in the name of God will
not make John Bunyan or John Wesley or Smith Wigglesworth or the Apostle
Saul (Paul) be reverenced without giving glory to God.
