Full bleed event advertisement for a fundraiser dinner

Microsoft Word

Objectives: -Create a full bleed poster by only using Microsoft Word.

-Scan a high quality image.
-Learn about image sizing and color schemes

Process:

I first scanned the image of the little girl with the easel. I then
used Microsoft Word to create this Advertisement. I used the eyedropper
tool to take the violet and gold out of the picture and create the boxes and
lines below. It is such a great tool to be able to continue the color scheme
throughout the document. I added the gold stripes to create contrast with
the violet boxes.

montage with a relevant scripture to go along with it.

Programs:
Objectives:

Adobe Photoshop
-Learn to blend two or more images together gradually,
using masks.
-Unify a layout with a consistent theme and dominant
spiritual message
-Learn more advanced techniques on Photoshop

Process:

I first choose 2 images along with a Bible verse that I thought

went well together. I added a mask and used black paint and 100% opacity
to remove the sharp edges. I then lowered the opacity and blended the 2
images together. Finally I choose a gold texture image and blended that in
as well to make the 2 images appear as one image.

-Learn basic photography skills.

-Choose a color scheme, take a photo to match those
colors and incorporate colors into your layout
- Create a full bleed design

Process:

I first decided on a color scheme that I wanted and then

I took a picture of the pot/flower decoration in my apartment. I then
did some basic Photoshop edits such as levels, saturation, sharpen and
color. I then found the quote that I felt went well with my picture and
I created an 8.511 poster with colors from the image. I also used the
eyedropper tool to pull out colors from the image to include in my
color swatches.

I designed a logo for a specific company

Adobe Illustrator
-Use only the Illustrator tools to create and draw your logos.
-Create three completely different, original logos to fit a
company or personal image that will appeal to the audience.
-Refine one logo with variations for color

I found an image of a dress that I liked online. I then traced it

using the Adobe Illustrator program. I then deleted the original image and
was left with the tracing. I choose 2 fonts that I thought went well together.
I also picked a color for the type that contrasted well with the color I chose
for the dress. I then positioned the font and image together in a way that
was appealing.

leadership conference

Adobe InDesign
-Incorporate basic InDesign skills
-Apply the design principles and use appropriate typography.
-Create a project folder with image, logo and InDesign
document

I started with sketching out ideas for my flier. I used the program
Adobe InDesign to carry out my sketches. I chose the image because everyone
in it seemed happy and I wanted to get people excited for the conference. I
made sure there was a lot of contrast in the title as well as made sure there
was a good amount of white space.
