Its only natural that the art of Ojai artist Sherry Loehr
has garnered such a profound response from museum
visitors. Loehrs paintings are tranquil and meditative.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Debbie Brokaw Jackson, one of our newest board members, joined us in 2015,
after moving back to Santa Paula after almost 20 years in Oregon. Now that
she is back home, she provides consulting services to nonprofits and family
businesses, and helps with the family avocado and citrus ranches. She is neither
an artist nor an art collector, so why has she joined the Santa Paula Art Museum
board of directors? The Santa Paula Art Museum is a wonderful celebration of
legacy, art, education, and community, all in a beautiful package. It is much
more than another static art museum. The breadth of programming and the
dedication of the staff and volunteers are amazing. Who wouldnt want to be a
part of that? Debbie looks forward to using her 20 years of experience in
nonprofit management and governance to help SPAM create a vibrant future.
1. It was a full house at our Sixth Annual Fine and Decorative Art Auction in March. 2. Ventura artist John
Robertson recently led a lively demonstration of how he creates his large-scale figurative paintings. 3. The
Museums ArtSPARK school tour program continues to grow with over 1,000 students being served this year!

When Gail Pidduck starts a series of paintings, she is usually inspired by something that she has read or seen.
Robert D. Hales once wrote, I thrilled to explore the magnificent beauties of Gods creations - from tiny
insects to towering trees. His words started Pidduck thinking about the large and small parts of nature in her
own little corner of the world. One Look at Nature, Pidducks much-anticipated solo show, will feature
breathtaking new works, all of which are an honest statement of the artists gratitude for an amazing world.

The Art of Aviation, produced in partnership with the Aviation Museum of Santa Paula, celebrates the place
of aviation in the story of Ventura County, a history which includes the famous Santa Paula Airport established
in 1930. The group show will illustrate the many aspects of aviation through art - from airplanes and airports
to pilots and majestic vistas. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, June 1, 2016.
The Santa Paula Art Museum joins those listed below in honoring the individual listed in bold. We also thank those contributing
to the Museums appeals and those who became new members from September 1, 2015 through April 1, 2016.
