Letter of Motivation
I would like to introduce myself as a highly motivated and hardworking

person with a yearning aspiration to advance in the career endeavour. I
strongly believe that a high quality education together with practical
exposure is essential to attain a career betterment. To achieve that, I
invested significant time and effort to grasp the fundamentals. As a result, I
could excel throughout my academics with excellent grades which fetched
me scholarships from various organizations.
Since my childhood, I have always been curious to get the insight of science
behind every natural phenomenon. This endowment helped me to
understand the basic principles of physics and mathematics right from my
schooling, where I solved empirical problems and conceived their role in
everyday applications. It extended my interest furthermore to choose
engineering where mathematical concepts are applied practically for the
innovation.
During my coursework, technical trainings and lab experiments, I have also
gathered insight and valuable experience in programming, stress analysis,
and mathematical modeling for various mechanical systems. In my
bachelors, I had a technical training on Computational Techniques using
MATLAB for mechanical deformation and strength analysis. This
enlightened me to explore the untapped potential of computational analysis
in engineering.
Owing to the interest, I started to spend more time during laboratory
sessions in simulating complex engineering problems using programming
softwares like MATLAB and I realized that my passion lies in the area of
computational analysis. So, I started putting immense dedication in learning
the programming applications like Python, C with the help of online learning
platforms. These traits came in handy during my bachelor thesis so that I
could design and execute my project with meticulous planning using
simulation tools like ANSYS well before the deadline. My project has also
received good credits from my professors. I also had the subjects like
Numerical methods, Partial Differential Equations (PDE), Strength of
Materials and Finite Element Analysis that further honed my interest

towards the promising field of Computational Engineering.
As a next logical step in the career advancement, I decided to do masters in

Computational Engineering which will provide me in-depth knowledge and
proficiency in the latest techniques with the right blend of theoretical and
practical learning aspects. Through my professors, I came to know about the
International Master programs offered by the German Universities. With
further research, I understood that the German Universities have state of the
art research infrastructure and have close connection with the Industry
leaders. I also found that the German Universities feature a strong,
characteristic profile in the field of Science & Engineering along with highly
qualified professors. The contribution of various research institutes to science
and to the industrial world fascinated me and made me to choose Germany
as my academic destination.
Through www.daad.de, I found the course Computational Engineering
offered by RUHR University, Bochum. I browsed through the course
curriculum and I found the subjects like Computational Mechanics of
Materials, Introduction to Scientific Programming and Numerical
Methods for Differential Equations to be very interesting Through the
university portal, I came across about the option of doing Research
Assistantships in the university which enable the students to take part in the
research projects of their interests. My inclination towards the field of
Numerical Modelling and Computation will surely motivate me to proactively
participate and contribute to the program. The interdisciplinary nature of this
program will broaden my learning scope and greatly improve the prospect of
doing a doctorate. Along with high quality technical education, I would also
have a possibility to learn new cultures and languages. All these factors
motivated me to choose Computational Engineering in RUHR University,
Bochum.
I am sure that my motivation and hard work will help me to face the
challenges ahead on and come out with flying colors. I am also aware of the
dedication and hard work needed for the course. I believe that my
qualifications and skills would meet the requirements for admission of this
program. I would like to thank you for your valuable time and will be looking
forward to hearing from you.
