    1. Paracetamol (brand name Biogesic) is indicated for relief of mild-to-moderate pain and temporary reduction of fever. It works by inhibiting pyrogens and prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system. 2. It is contraindicated in patients with allergy to acetaminophen or impaired hepatic function. It should be used cautiously in pregnancy, lactation, chronic alcoholism. 3. Common adverse effects include weakness, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, constipation, rash and urticaria.
