Sodium sulfite is a white solid salt with the chemical formula Na2SO3. It is produced industrially by reacting sulfur dioxide with sodium carbonate. Sodium sulfite has various applications including use in the pulp and paper industry, water treatment, photography, food preservation, and textile bleaching.
