After assembly, all connections should mate ush even when tightened by hand.
A connection that is not ush would indicate one of the following problems:
cross-threading
worn threads
dirty threads
damaged threads.
If the threads are cross-threaded, the assembly items should be disassembled,
threads checked for damage and reassembled if no damage is present.
If the threads are dirty, clean them with a wire brush.
It the threads are worn or damaged the item or items are typically replaced. The
damage can be con rmed by various inspection methods.

2. Position the end of the bowl to access the large helix right below the ne
threads. The large helix is machined only on one end of bowl.
3. Select the correct grapple size to engage the stuck tool. The grapple is
designed with left hand threads. Rotate the grapple in a counter-clockwise
direction to install.
4. Verify the grapples tongue is located in the matching recess area leaving
space on the right for the tongue of the grapple control.

5. Align the grapple control tongue with area to the right of grapples tongue
and drop it into the bowl.
6. Seat the grapple control tongue in the recessed area of the bowl. The
grapples tongue should be located in the notched area of the grapple
control (between grapple control and bowl).
7. Select the downhole overshot guide. Choose a guide that is about 2-in
smaller than the minimum casing restriction.

9. Tighten the overshot guide so that no gap exists between it and bowl..
If the grapple and grapple control are installed correctly, the overshot guide
will mate ush to the bowl. The correct torque of 1,300 ft-lbs will be applied
after the assembly is complete.

10. Position the bowl - guide assembly to expose the bowl end. The recessed
area below the ne threads is reserved for a Type A packer.
11. Locate the correct Type A packer. Select the size identical to that of the
grapple.

15. Install the rst downhole overshot extension. Be careful not to damage the
ne threads during make-up. Screw the downhole overshot extension all
the way until it is ush to the bowl.
16. Install the second downhole overshot extension. Just as before, screw the
second downhole overshot extension all the way until it is ush to the bowl.

22. After installing the crossover, tighten the complete assembly to the correct
torque values. A torque value of 1,300 ft-lbs is required between the
downhole overshot guide and bowl. Use a torque value of 3,200 ft-lbs
between the bowl, extensions and top sub. Use the standard torque value
between the top sub and crossover.

assembled as indicated in the illustration below. Pay very close attention to the
locations of upper and lower swivels and knuckle joints as they are positioned
differently in this 2-1/8-in O.D. rope socket kit when compared to the other two.
This system does not have an upper crossover sub to permit mating of the
rope socket housing to the rest of the assembly. Unlike the 1-3/8-in O.D. and
1-11/16-in O.D. rope socket kits, the swivel threads of this kit are designed to
screw the rope socket housing directly to the swivel, eliminating the sub.
1. To begin, locate all of the hardware listed in the table below.
