The Yellow Wallpaper written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman is a short story of a woman who

has been forced to confine herself in a locked room in the pretended care for her
motherhood.
Jane, a young mother has been confined in a rented summer house by her husband John
who is a physician. Jane goes through psychic problems inside the room and started
believing herself feel secure inside that room. The very purpose of keeping her inside was
defeated and she is now obsessed with the room and the smell of the wall paper found
inside the room.
