Instead of adding a header or footer, consider adding a background. A background can show
everything a header or footer can, but a background is much more flexible. For example, you can
have a different background for every page, and backgrounds can contain multiple lines of text
and shapes, such as a company logo, a border, or title blocks with file paths, last revision dates,
and other information.

You can add data to each shape by typing it in the Shape Data window on the View tab, in
the Show group, click Task Panes, and then click Shape Data. With Visio Professional Edition,
you can also import data from an external data source.
Data is not displayed in the drawing by default. To see the data for an individual shape, open
the Shape Data window at Data > Show/Hide > Shape Data Window, then select the shape.
If you want to display the data for lots of shapes at once, you can use a feature called data
graphics, also on the Data tab. The following illustration shows the data for two trees at once

-In the lower-left of the drawing window, right-click a page tab

1. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click Clip Art.
2. Note If Clip Art is not installed on your computer, you are prompted to install it. Click
Yes, and Microsoft Office Visio starts the installation. You may be prompted to insert the
installation disc.
3. In the Clip Art task pane, in the Search for text box, type a word or phrase that describes
the clip art you want, or type in all or some of the file name of the clip art.

5. To limit search results to a specific collection of clip art, in the Search in box, click the
arrow and select the collection you want to search.
6. To limit search results to a specific type of media file, such as clip art, in the Results
should be box, click the arrow and select the check boxes next to the types you want.
7. Click Go.
8. In the Results list, click the clip art to insert it.
