Consolidated results on the top 5 national and/or local issues and the top 5 election
issues of the Focus group discussion held last October 2, 2015 at the New Student
Activity Center, GS 15, Grade school building, Ateneo de Zamboanga University.
The activity was attended by 7 clubs/organizations presidents/representatives namely
Sheena Mae Alcala of the Ateneo Debate Union (ADU), Trisha Ortega of the Beacon
Publications, Sitti Fatima Paula Chua the Union of Students for the Advancement of
Democracy (USAD), Dave Cervas of the Ateneo Centennial Scholars (ACES), Robert
John Batisla-on of the Peers Circle, Adzhar Musa of the El Consejo Atenista (ECA), and
Abdul Aziz Mustal of the Muslim Students Association (MSA); Ateneo Task Force
chairperson Farou Jane L. Indanan; Buklod Ambassador Andre Lawrence G. Ang;
Office of the Buklod Ambassador researchers Anna Louis Andes & Shareen Hayudini;
Former El Consejo Atenista President Barry A. Barraca; and El Consejo Atenista
moderator Mr. Brian Joseph P. Bango.
Top 5 National and/or Local issues:
1) Agrarian Reform
Public awareness on the distinction on the lands which are for agriculture,
ancestral domain, and others.
Retention of the ancestral domains as stipulated in the law but it could be
used as heritage sites for tourist attraction.
Promoting agriculture in the education system. Show the people that there
is future in agriculture because if they will not then who be the producers
of food crops?

Direct vote buying means that money is paid to the voter to garner votes.
This includes politician to non-politician payment and politician to
politician payment. Indirect vote buying includes sympathy votes, poll
votes
Advocating of proper voters education.
Proper and strict implementation and monitoring.
Strict and alert security during campaigning period and during the
Election Day itself.
