PCT41 Process Vessel Accessory and
PCT41 Process Vessel Accessory and
Accessory and PCT43 Electronic Control Console accessory to manually operate the
PCT40 system. Fill agitated vessel and heating vessel with enough water to about 8090% of its capacity. Start the agitator motor. Connect the two vessels using hoses so as to
permit circulation of fluid between the agitated vessel and heating vessel; the outlet of the
heating vessel to the inlet of the agitated vessel and the outlet of the agitated vessel to the
inlet of the heating vessel. The hoses are fitted into two peristaltic pumps to assist the
flows. The agitation speed of the vessel was measured using a tachometer.
Using the electronic console, start the electric heater in the heating vessel and set the
desired temperature. Connect the inlet of the cooling coil to the cooling water supply line
and start the pump, adjusting the inlet flow rate of the cooling water at the desired level
by adjusting the PSV in the console.
Allow sufficient time to achieve steady state. Once steady state is attained, the inlet and
outlet temperatures of the cooling water is measured, as well as its flow rate by collecting
the outlet water in one minute. The inlet and outlet temperatures of the agitated vessel are
also recorded.
The procedure is repeated for different flow rates of the cooling water, keeping the
agitation speed constant.
