Food: vocabulary

Dairy: Vegetables:

Milk and cheese Tomatoes, potatoes and carrots

Fruit: Grains:

Apples and bananas Cereal, rice, noodles and pasta

Meat and protein: fish, chicken, beef and beans


Examples:

Person 1: I love breakfast. I usually eat some cereal, but I dont have any milk with it.

Person 2: My favorite meal is lunch. I like noodles with tomatoes.

Person 3: I enjoy the dinner. A typical dinner for me is chicken and rice.

Grammar: Count and noncount nouns; some and any

Count nouns: Noncounts nouns:

A tomato four tomatoes Milk cereal rice, etc

An apple apples

Do you have any apples? Does she have any milk?

Yes, I have some (apples) Yes, she has some (milk)

No, I dont have any (apples) No, she doesnt have any (milk)

Make a list of count and noncounts nouns:

Grammar: Prepositions of location

In = dentro On = en next to = al lado de across from = al frente de (cruzando la calle)

Between = entre on the corner of = en la esquina de

Look at the Map and complete the sentences with the correct preposition.

Example:

The bar is across from the city hall

Now, answer these questions:

Giving directions: Vocabulary

Go up= subir turn left= doblar a la izquierda turn right= doblar a la izquierda

go one block= vaya una cuadra its on the right= est a la derecha walk down= camina hacia
abajo

Take a right= toma la derecha take a left= toma la izquierda walk two blocks= camina dos
cuadras

Its on the left= est a la izquierda

Example:

Go up Second Street, Turn left on Main Street, its on the right.

Now, answer these questions:
