OBJECTIVE:
To familiarize with refrigerator and study about working principle of simple
household refrigerator.
INTRODUCTION:
REFRIGERATOR: Cooling device comprising thermally insolated components to transfer heat
from it to external components, cooling the contents to temperature below than the ambient
temperature.
FREEZER: A device which maintain the temperature a few degree above the freezing point of
water is known as the freezer.
Compressor:
The compressor is a vapour compression
Figure 2 evaporator
pump which uses pistons or some other
method to compress the refrigerant gas and
send it on its way to the condenser. The
condenser is a heat exchanger which removes
heat from the hot compressed gas and allows it
to condense into a liquid.
Condenser:
Figure 3 compressor
A condenser unit used in central air
conditioning systems typically has a heat
exchanger section to cool down and condense
incoming refrigerant vapor into liquid, a
compressor to raise the pressure of
the refrigerant and move it along, and a fan for
blowing outside air through the heat
exchanger section to cool the.

Expansion valve:
It is a component in refrigeration and air
conditioning systems that controls the amount
of refrigerant flow into the evaporator thereby
controlling the superheat at the outlet of the
evaporator.
