During reading: You will be assigned to embody the ethos of one character on the pilgrimage. While we read and analyze The
Canterbury Tales, you need to take copious notes on your character. You need to delve into your characters inner workings to
become him or her in behavior, thought, and speech.
At the party: Upon arrival at the dinner party, there will be time for socialization and casual conversation. As you mingle at the
party with other pilgrims, you must keep in character, and you must also wear one symbolic prop that helps reveal your
pilgrims identity.
Formal Introductions: After the mocktail hour, you will present a one-minute monologue introducing yourself to the class.
Again, do not state the pilgrims name because we want to guess your pilgrims identity! You will have researched your
pilgrims profession, social status, etc. and will relay these details in your monologue. For example, if you are the knight, you
would research and explain the rules and codes that medieval knights honored.
After the party: You will write a reflection piece explaining the creative process.
Research:
Use the SICP Databases to research two (2) articles (biography, primary sources, etc. to enhance your understanding of the
character) and ANNOTATE them. You will submit both annotated articles to Google Classroom.
