Lesson Outline/Procedures
Lecture Outline
Interval 1 I will use the Power Point on Native Americans to facilitate a lecture on the history of the
Native Americans in North America. The lecture will begin with the encounters with the early explorers
and what resulted. The lecture will end with time period just before the Indian Removal policy. TSW
follow along with lecture on nearpod. However, TS computers will be at half-mast to ensure they are
engaged in the lecture. TSW answer essential questions as the lecture progresses on their computers at
selected times as directed by TT.

Interval 2 TSW move to table groups to work on research for the Power Point presentation that will be
due at the end of the unit. TTW choose the groups. The rubric for grading the Power Point will be given
to TS to help guide them to make the best presentation possible.

Application
Guided Practice:
Interval 3 TSW move back to their tables and continue work on their part of the Power Point
presentation with TT providing help to the class as a whole and 1 to 1. As part of the rubric for the
presentation, TSW also take time to evaluate each other and their contribution to the project.
Independent Practice:
Interval 4 TSW have a worksheet and questions assigned to further their understanding of the material
from the lecture. TSW do the work in pairs to help facilitate collaboration. TTW choose the pairs.
Summary
Lesson Closure:
TSW blog about their days work and what they learned from the lesson.
Evaluation
Informal Assessment:
TTW provide formative assessments through-out the lesson and project. Kahoot will be used to during
the lecture to quiz TS at certain intervals. TTW provide constructive questioning as TS are working in
their groups.
