S9 - Clasa A IV-a
Class: IV
Structures and vocabulary: poems, nursery rhymes, read like you are
Aims: Ss read different nursery rhymes with different kind of voices (like you are
happy/scared/underwater, etc.)
Procedure:
Ss pick up a nursery rhyme and Ss read it with a normal voice. T helps Ss with their
pronunciation. Then, Ss pick up a voice card and they read the poem with the voice it is
written on the card. All the Ss have a chance to read. Ss keep the poems and they learn it by
heart.
Ss come to the board and they draw any objects it comes in their mind. The rest of the class
must ask questions Is it a/an? The S answers Yes, it is or No, it isnt.

Procedure:
2. Summing up the unit: Ss work on exercises 6, 7 from page 11. T reads the poem from
exercise 8 and then asks individual Ss to read one line each.
3. Pre-reading: Ss look at the pictures from page 12, exercise 1 and asks them who they
think are the people from the picture. Ss answer. T then asks Ss to pay attention to the
dialogue that they will be listening and say at the end who is Tony? 5 minutes
- T asks one S to be Maria and one S to be Sarah. Ss read the text and T asks Ss to underline
the words that they do not know or are uncertain about. T checks and explains the words 15
minutes.
4. Post-listening: T explains the task for exercise 2 from page 12. Ss do the task and T
monitors. T checks and gives feedback. If necessary, T gives additional explanations 5
minutes.
5. Presentation: T gives Ss some examples with the possessive adjectives in order to revise
them and writes the second sentence from Lets learn! box. T circles the s and asks Ss to
think about its meaning. T elicits the correct translation and writes some more examples on
the board making the Ss aware of the use of the s. Ss write in their notebooks and copy the
blue box from page 12- 10 minutes

Lesson: Jobs
Structures and vocabulary: family members, the genitive case, jobs, 3rd person S/-ES
Procedure:
2. Warmer: T may bring some pictures of famous characters from books and T may ask Ss
to describe those characters clothes (T tries to elicit the same structures the Ss used in their
homework: the s from the genitive case) 5 minutes
3. Consolidation: T explains the task and Ss rephrase the given sentences from exercise
6/page 13 as in the example using the s from the genitive case. T checks and gives feedback
5 minutes
4. New lesson (pages 14 and 15): T asks Ss what they want to become when they will grow
up. T gives the equivalent for these jobs in English and writes them on the board. Then, the T
asks Ss to look at the pictures from page 14, exercises 1 and 2 and name the jobs of each of
the characters from the pictures. Ss work on the two exercises 12 minutes

Procedure:
1. Warmer: T may bring some pictures of different people who have different jobs. T shows
the pictures to the Ss and elicits the jobs those people have 3 minutes
3. Consolidation: T asks Ss to look at page 15, exercise 4 and circle the correct answer. Ss
write the questions and the answers in their notebooks. T checks 4-5 minutes
4. Presentation: T reminds Ss of the 3rd person singular s/-es and provides some examples
to make things clearer for them 5 minutes
7. Reading comprehension: T explains the task and Ss work on exercises 2 and 3 from page
16 orally. T checks 5 minutes
8. Presentation: T may want to stop here and present the verb to have (a avea):
Harry and Linda have new penfriends -> They have new penfriends. T explains Ss that only
when we say about he or she we use the form has. In the other situations we use have. T asks
Ss to give two more examples of sentences with have and has 5-7 minutes
T asks Ss to look at page 17 and she will say the words in the blue box (the days of the
week). Ss repeat after the T. Ss work on exercise 4, page 17. T explains unknown words (to
go; have fun; at the weekend) 3 minutes

Structures and vocabulary: tiny, huge, large, nice; does; question formation with does/do.
Ss correct sentences and write answers with the negative forms of do/does
Procedure:
1. Warmer: T greets the Ss and asks them about their holiday and the presents they received
for Christmas. Ss are asked to answer in English sentences: I received a/an.. T may ask
about the size and colour of the presents. Ss answer 3 minutes
3. Post-listening: T asks several Ss to read the story. Afterwards, Ss answer orally to the
questions from exercise 2, page 23. T gives feedback 5-7 minutes
T explains the tasks for exercises 1, 2, 3, 4 from pages 24 and 25 and Ss work in their
notebooks. T gives the necessary explanations concerning vocabulary
1-orally; 2-NB; 3-orally; 4-NB 10-12 minutes
5. Presentation: T explains the information from page 25 (Lets learn!). Ss copy the
information in their NB 5 minutes

1. Warmer: T shows Ss a photograph with a traditional Thanksgiving family dinner and asks
them what they think it is and what important day may that be for such a great dinner to be
served. Ss answers and T gives additional explanations about the origin and the meaning of
the American celebration 5 minutes
2. While-listening: T then asks Ss to look at page 16, exercise 1. Ss will listen and pay
attention at the name of Marias penfriend (T may want to explain what a penfriend is). T
checks and asks individual Ss to read the text. 5 minutes
3. Post-reading: T explains the task and Ss work on exercises 2 and 3 from page 16 orally. T
checks 5 minutes
4. Presentation: a) T may want to stop here and present the verb to have (a avea):
b) T asks Ss to look at page 17 and she will say the words in the blue box (the days of the
week). Ss repeat after the T. Ss work on exercise 4, page 17. T explains unknown words (to
go; have fun; at the weekend). Ss write in their notebooks 5 minutes
5. Consolidation: T explains the task for exercise 5, page 17 and Ss complete it in their
notebooks. T checks. Afterwards, T asks Ss to look at page 18, exercise 1 and do the
crossword. Ss come to the board and write the days of the week they found in the crossword
in the right order. Ss copy in their notebooks.
After the finish, T asks Ss to copy the questions from 1 C) in their notebooks and answer
them. T checks 15 minutes
