Who Is Nikola Tesla
Some people think that study of history is just wasting their time, however by
studying history we will understand what happened in the past and the monopoly behind it,
this quote from Theodore Roosevelt told that “I believe that the more you know about the
past, the better you are prepared for the future.” In this Article will review about Nikola
Tesla, his invention, and some story behind it.
Nikola Tesla was born on 10 July 1856, in a place that now called as Smijlan, Crotia.
He was born during the stormy day and many people told his mom that her child will just be
a people who live in the darkness, however, her mom told to the child that he will become a
person who brings the light. Tesla father asks him to join to become a writer like his father,
but Tesla choose to become a scientist and he studied at Realschule, Karlstadt in 1873, the
Polytechnic Institute in Graz, Austria and the University of Prague.
Tesla has been an expert in physics and mathematic, however for some reason he
interested to electricity. In 1881, he starts his career as an electrical engineer with a telephone
company in Budapest. Then he went to America to introduce his induction motor and he was
accepted to work for Thomas Edison Laboratory in New York; at that time, Thomas Edison is
the one who invents the direct current and a business man. In 1884, Nikola Tesla has figured
out his alternating current (A.C.) and told to Thomas Edison to change the line in his
laboratory dynamos and ask him to change the light that still uses direct current (D.C.),
however, Edison debated it because of he afraid to lose his investment in direct current. From
that time Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla became a rival. Then Nikola Tesla stops his work
for Edison and start his own A.C. industry and work together with George Westinghouse to
introduce the A.C. to the world, in other side Edison did not want to loose so he also
introduces his D.C. to the world, however, Edison was loose and Tesla won for his A.C.
invention and patent it.
Nikola Tesla does not just stop making A.C. induction motor, which is used in the
worldwide industry and household appliances. He also invented the telegraphy without wires,
X-Ray, the radio, remote control, electric motor, robotic, laser and much more; overall he has
about 700 patents that he has in the worldwide and most of the invention is still used until
now. But the most popular invention that ever been made is the Tesla Coil, which can provide
a free energy for the whole world, but his funding was stopped by a business man that afraid
to lost his profit. Not just stop at their, Tesla ever made a dangerous weapon called Death
Ray, which he invented for every country to defend themselves from another attacker,
however his manuscript was gone until now. The most interesting is that Nikola Tesla can
figure out all of his inventions without scratching in the paper; just in his mind. At the end,
Nikola Tesla died on 7 of January 1943 in the Hotel New York.
Tesla Coil
Many inventions of Nikola Tesla was useful to this world and we should thank him.
However, in our history he was never been showed because many people judge him as a mad
scientist / Geek and most of his research was not profitable in the salary because Nikola Tesla
more cared about people in the world than making money, like his quote said that “The desire
that guides me in all I do is the desire to harness the force of nature to the service of
mankind.”
“The world will wait a long time for Nikola Tesla’s equal in
achievement and imagination.” E. ARMSTRONG
