Seismic Inversion4

The document outlines the course content for a seismic inversion course. It discusses general aspects of seismic inversion including concepts, data requirements, and methods. It then describes the practical workflows for poststack and prestack inversion, including data quality control, wavelet extraction, building an a priori model, and parameterization and quality control of results. Advanced inversion techniques like geostatistical inversion, joint PP/PS inversion, and 4D inversion are also covered. Geostatistical inversion is discussed in more detail as it generates impedance models that satisfy seismic data statistics and can produce multiple equiprobable realizations.
