Syllabus of Switched Mode Power Converters

This syllabus outlines the modules for the course EED370: Switched Mode Power Converters. Module 1 introduces switched mode power converters and their advantages over linear power converters. It also covers power semiconductor devices and their ideal switching characteristics. Module 2 analyzes steady-state operation of switching power converters including inductor volt-second balance, capacitor charge balance, and pulse width modulation. It examines the buck, boost, buck-boost, and Cuk converters. Module 3 covers isolated power converters such as forward, flyback, push-pull, and full-bridge converters. Module 4 discusses basic magnetic theory, design of high frequency inductors and transformers for power converters. Module 5 analyzes closed-loop control of power converters
