Task 1: (5 mins)
When you watch a movie or read a book and enjoy it, you want to share the story with your friends
/ family. When you do this, do you recite the story word by word, or do you give the person a gist?
Answer :
I would love to recite the story in a gist. it is impractical to recite the story word by word however I
would love to explain the gist of the story in the way they understand properly.
Answer :
More predominantly I use paraphrasing when I’m writing however it is not that I won’t use while
speaking, I even use it while speaking. I use it more often during my examinations . Which helps
me to write the answers unique as well as in a accurate manner and it looks quite impressive .

Real Life English
Can you think of three instances where you use paraphrasing related to speaking in daily life?
2. When we need to deliver the information quickly and in the short manner.
It saves time and money by preventing misunderstanding and mistakes. To demonstrate what we
understand and trying to understand in different manner.
You will then upload ONE audio summary of your paraphrased version on Edmodo. You will both
divide the speech into two and each paraphrase one part in the SAME audio file.
