Please be informed that the Senate President has authorized the filling-up of the vacant position/s
in the Senate Secretariat:

We are inviting interested personnel to submit their applications to the Human Resources
Management Service for evaluation fifteen (15) days upon notice. After such period, no application
shall be entertained. Interested applicants should submit the following necessary documents to
HRMS:

1. Letter of Application
2. Updated Personal Data Sheet (CS 212 Revised 2017, Notarized with work experience
sheet)
3. Authenticated Transcript of Records from the School Registrar

POSITION DESCRIPTION

1. Recommends policies that would ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of


clientele services section.

2. Supervises and coordinates all activities involving the work programs designed
to implement the approved plan, programs of the Service.

3. Reviews and reports periodically on the progress of work program


implementation, and evaluates individual staff performance on the basis of
standards and measurements; of work performance established for the
Clientele Services Section.

4. Render research assistance and handles reference queries on general subject


matters; takes part in other information/research activities of the clientele
services section.

5. Performs other related tasks as required from time to time.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

1. Develops and maintains the bibliographic database of the library’s document and
serial collection, in printed or digital formats.

2. Renders reference/research assistance service, particularly requests for serials


and official publications.

3. Prepares and disseminates annotated bibliographies of articles published in latest


eds. of journal and other serial publications available in the Library.

4. Researches and compiles bio-data and legislative accomplishments/activities of


Senators, past and present.

5. Supervises and reviews work undertaken by staff in the unit and the organization
and maintenance of serials and official publications on the shelves.

6. Selects news items from assigned newspapers for the Current Information Service
and assigns them subject headings.

7. Performs other related task as required or necessary.


POSITION : Legislative Staff Officer II

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

POSITION DESCRIPTION

1. Develops and updates the Senate Library collection of electronic bibliography


databases.

2. Provide automated research assistance using OPAC, the internet, reference


sources in CDs and A-V materials.

3. Use and instruct in the use of information technologies and other non-printed
reference sources.

4. Troubleshoot minor technical problems re: computer operations; coordinate with


EDP for needed servicing.

5. Search the internet for information materials relevant to legislation, prints


downloaded materials as ready-reference materials.

6. Classify and catalog reference materials in various formats using Anglo-American


Cataloging Rules II (AACR II) and the U.S. Library of Congress cataloging
systems.

8. Performs other related task as required or necessary.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

1. Provides assistance to the Deputy Secretary for Legislation (DSL) in the


performance of his duties and functions, ie. Supervision of legislative
activities related to plenary affairs, research and reference and other
activities involved in the law-making process;

2. Drafts/reviews minutes of meetings presided by the Deputy Secretary for


Legislation;

3. Liaises and coordinates work with the legislative staff units in the offices of
Senators and their committees, including other units in the legislation
department of the Senate Secretariat;

4. Assists the Deputy Secretary for Legislation in the review of opinions, written
research outputs, drafting of speeches, memoranda and office
communications;

5. Provides analysis and review of important legislative and legal documents


prior to transmittal to higher offices/other offices;

6. Provides assistance to the DSL in his designation as the Senate


Representative to Presidential United Nations Convention Against
Corruption (UNCAC) Inter-Agency Committee (PUICOM);
7. Assists the Deputy Secretary for Legislation in the projects and activities of
the legis quorum; and

8. Performs other duties or functions as may be assigned to him/her by the


Deputy Secretary for Legislation.
