The first step in designing a website is to chose which tools you will use.
According to Trimble, “Several free, online tools can help you create a website without needing
to directly code the pages themselves” (Trimble, L. 2017). I have chosen to use a site called
Weebly. According to Trimble, “Weebly for Education allows teachers to set up student accounts
for a full class and choose whether to make the student sites public or password protected, giving
teachers full control over the websites” (Trimble, L. 2017). Weebly is user friendly and has the
ability to be used with students, this is why I chose to use Weebly to make my website. Prior to
allowing students to use Weebly (to make their own sites), you must first get approval from your
district and/or administrator (Trimble, L. 2017). The following provides a step by step guide on
− Go to weebly .com.
− This will prompt you to sign up. You may use Facebook or Google. I used my
WGU Google account. I do not suggest using Facebook to sign in, as this may
cause later issues with your personal and professional information being
2017).
− Once you are signed in you will see an edit option. Click, “edit”.

You may also upload a picture from one you have saved on your computer.

specific color, click the arrow on the bottom right. This will open more colors to
choose from. Select the color you like. This will change the color automatically.
