Lesson 5 Rubric

This rubric evaluates student participation in a group poetry project. Students are assigned to research and present on a poetry type like acrostic or limerick poems. Groups must create a visual explanation for their poetry type. Individually, students must write an original poem of the assigned type. The rubric assesses students on their contribution to group work, the quality of the visual presentation, how well their poem follows the discussed guidelines, and whether they chose one of the assigned poetry types. Higher scores are given for going above expectations in group participation and leadership.
