The present perfect tense may occur in future time clauses, especially with
after or until.
Supply the verb forms for future time in the following sentences. (Watch for
the position of the time clauses. Some are at the beginning of the sentence;
some are at the end.)
EXAMPLE: After they (make) make or have made one more payment on the
mortgage, they (own) will own the house.
1. When his boss (fires) fires/has fired him, then he will be sorry he didn’t
work harder.
2. After the wind (die down) dies down/has died down, we (go) will go for
a long walk.
3. They (check) will check the weather report tomorrow morning before they
(go) go to the beach.
4. We (will) shall/will have everything ready by the time you (get) get here.
5. We (not be) will/shall not be able to have a meeting until one of our
members (return) returns/has returned from his business trip.
6. When I (see) see him next week, I (ask) will/shall ask him about that
matter.
7. After he (find) finds/has found the mistake in the figure, he (retype) will
retype the statistical chart.
8. He (not do) will not do anything until he (see) sees/has seen a lawyer.
9. Until you (pay) pay/have paid your current bill, we (not extend)
will/shall not extend you any further credit.
10. They (buy) will buy everything they need before the child (be born) is
