DAILY LESSON LOG
Teaching Dates and
Time: January 16-20, 2017 (Week 10) Quarter: 3RD Quarter

MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY

OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards simple DC circuit and the relationship between electricity and magnetism in electromagnets

B. Performance Standards propose an unusual tool or device using electromagnet that is useful for home school or community

C. Learning 1.Conduct an experiment to show variables that affect the strength of an electromagnet. THIRD PERIODICAL TEST
Competencies/Objectives 2.Conduct a simple and useful electromagnet.

III. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous Review:
lesson or presenting the Inspect the three illustrations. Which
new lesson picture show correct connection of
an electromagnet? Why?
B. Establishing a purpose for Form 2 groups of boys versus girls.
the lesson Play the tag of war game. Form 2
lines. Wind your arms around the
waist of a group member in front of
you. The boy and the girl in the front
line will pull each other hands, see
whose group is the toughest.
After the game the teacher will
inspect which group has the higher
number of members and whose
group has won.
Relate the activity to the strength of
an electromagnet later.
C. Presenting
examples/instances of the
new lesson
D. Discussing new concepts and Divide the class into 4 groups Let’s make a graph!
practicing new skills #1 Distribute LM copies of the activity Directions:
Give instructions/guide in doing the activity Show the average number of paper
clips each electromagnet picked up
for each voltage tested. Use the
averages you calculated on the
Electromagnets Data Chart to make
a line graph for each of the two
electromagnets.
E. Discussing new concepts and Background information
practicing new skills #2 Do you know that without the electromagnet many modern appliances that we now use could not work? The
electromagnet is a basic part of many electrical devices and appliances.Knowing about the properties of
electromagnets is a crucial underpinning for understanding how magnetic fields are generated in nature, in the surface
of the Sun, and in the interior of Earth.
Electromagnets are widely used as components of other electrical devices, such as motors, generators, relays,
loudspeakers, hard disks,MRI machines, scientific instruments, and magnetic separation equipment. Electromagnets
are also employed in industry for picking up and moving heavy iron objects such as scrap iron and steel.
F. Developing mastery . Let the pupils do activity 6 Let the pupils do activity 7- 4.Let the pupils do activity 8
(Leads to Formative electromagnets of LM electromagnets of LM electromagnets of LM
Assessment 3)
G. Finding practical
applications of concepts and
skills in daily living
H. Making generalizations and
abstractions about the
lesson
I. Evaluating learning EVALUATION:
Answer the following True or False
questions about magnets and
electromagnets:

TRUE OR FALSE
Write true for correct statements and
false for wrong statements
1.A strong electromagnet can be
produced by making electricity flow
through a coil of wire wound around
an iron metal.
2.An electromagnet behaves like a
magnet.
3.Different volt of electricity produces
the same strength of electromagnet.
4.The higher the volt of battery used.
The stronger an electromagnet
becomes.
5.An electromagnet is a permanent
magnet.

J. Additional activities for ASSIGNMENT : Prepare for a periodical test

application or remediation Writing About Magnetism tomorrow.
Write about having a magnetic touch.
Think about what you know
about magnets. As you are thinking,
remember the story of King Midas (a
king whose wish for everything
he touched to become gold was
granted). Use your imagination
and decide the following:
1. What objects you would want
to be attracted to you.
2. What would the objects be
made of?
3. Would you be able to use the
magnetic touch to solve problems?

IV. REMARKS
V. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who
earned 80% in the
evaluation
B. No. of learners who require
additional activities for
remediation who scored
below 80%
C. Did the remedial lessons
work? No. of learners who
have caught up with the
lesson
D. No. of learners who
continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my teaching
strategies worked well? Why
did these work?
F. What difficulties did I
encounter which my
principal or supervisor can
help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized
materials did I use/discover
which I wish to share with
other teachers?
