    Embedded along the Arabian Peninsula, Oman has managed to
    be overlooked by many due to its humble and peaceful
    presence. However, despite the hidden gem’s fascinating
    journey towards staggering urbanization, Oman doesn't
    seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Encrusted with
    several divergent scenic landscapes, the nation as a
    whole values and preserves its natural beauty greatly.
    With tumultuous terrain encompassing deserts, riverbed
    oases and stretching coastlines on the Arabian Sea, the
    Gulf of Oman sits proudly. The nation with its deserts,
    mountains, Wadis and islands, along with several water
    bodies, is home to over 4.6 million people.

    Today we uncover one of the most common scenes one may
    come across in Oman: The Green Mountain. (pause) Famously
    among the abundant mountainous range, lies Al Jebel
    Akhdar. The beautiful range located in the small town of
    Nizwa, extending nearly 300 kilometres northwest to
    southeast between the inland from the coast of the Gulf
    of Oman.

    (pause – roll 30 seconds of the montage)

    NARRATOR (V.O.)
    The area surrounds the great Saiq Plateau, 2000m above
    sea level. The Jebel, which translates to mountain in
    Arabic, manages to stay well hidden within all its wadis
    and terraces that form a sort of labyrinth. Up here in
    the cold air, a larger amount of precipitation persuades
    growth of numerous flora and fauna, and famously, the
    fragrant Damask roses, juicy pomegranates, walnuts,
    apricots and black grapes. With the abundance of such
    vegetation, there is a decline with cold temperatures
    that can drop down to -5 degrees from December to March
    each year, and rain and hailstones can also be quite
    common.
