[Compound MagicPRO]
INTRODUCTION
In this document you will also find listed some strategies for different sports to kick-
start your profits.
You will also find overleaf The Cascade approach to using Compound Magic PRO.
The Cascade strategy fully exploits the ability to save and load any of up to 21, on-
going Betting Plans offered by the PRO version.
Creative and thoughtful punters will develop their own strategies but until then, they
might find The Cascade approach of interest.
1
THE CASCADE
The example below is intended to explain the principle involved in running The
Cascade.
CMPro has been made small enough to allow several Plans to be open at the same
time.
For our convenience in this example we’ll treat each event as being a horse race.
Here we go:
Our initial selection is horse A in, say, the second race at Ascot.
PLAN 1: A
But as A has already been bet, B goes into the next column in the Plan, as you can
see:
PLAN 2: B
PLAN 1: A B C
PLAN 2: B C
2
What next?
Hopefully you’re definitely getting the idea now. If not, keep reading.
The Cascade (of Plans) continues with our next selection at Ascot race 7, horse D
PLAN 1: ABCD
PLAN 2: BCD
PLAN 3: CD
PLAN 4: D
PLAN 1: ABCDE
PLAN 2: BCDE
PLAN 3: CDE
PLAN 4: DE
PLAN 5: E
…
If E wins, then PLAN 1 is completed with a nice, fat total profit.
But if E loses you have still pocketed good profits during the Plan, so no wailing and
gnashing of teeth is needed!
Selection F is used to start a new Plan 1 AND selection F goes into remaining plans 2
3 4 and 5.
Simply start another Plan with the next selection as its 1st bet and continue the
pattern.
Remember: A Plan is always profitable once the 3rd bet has succeeded.
3
Two Selections Per Event
For the 1st Event A and B are both our selections
Set up 4 plans and place first bet in each plan as shown:
PLAN 1: A
PLAN 2: A
PLAN 3: B
PLAN 4: B
PLAN 1: A C
PLAN 2: A D
PLAN 3: B C
PLAN 4: B D
PLAN 1: A C E
PLAN 2: A D F
PLAN 3: B C E
PLAN 4: B D F
Selections K and L will eventually start a new Plan 1. Selections G and H followed
by I and J go into remaining plans 2 3 4 and 5.
Obviously, for easy explanation, this illustration assumes all selections succeed!
But again, if loss “breaks” a plan then simply start another Plan with the next
selection and continue the basic principle behind the patterns above.
Obviously the Events can not only be horse races but also head-to-head events such as
tennis, snooker, fencing, or individual team events (football, cricket and so on)
4
HEAD-TO-HEAD CASCADE
Ideal for:
Tennis
Snooker
Basketball
Baseball
Darts
…and so on
The idea is to first set up 4 Plans – 2 for the favourite, 2 for the other.
PLAN 1 1st choice 2nd choice 3rd choice 4th choice 5th choice
Initial Bet is on the
FAVOURITE:
Greene
PLAN 2 1st choice 2nd choice 3rd choice 4th choice 5th choice
Initial Bet is on the
OTHER
Taylor
PLAN 3 1st choice 2nd choice 3rd choice 4th choice 5th choice
Initial Bet is on the
FAVOURITE
Greenel
PLAN 4 1st choice 2nd choice 3rd choice 4th choice 5th choice
Initial Bet is on the
OTHER
Taylor
Greene wins.
Smith and Brown will go onto the existing live Plans 1 and 3 as the 2nd bets..
And Smith and Brown will also become our 1st bets in two new Plans (You could
reset Plans 2 and 4 and use them if you want to avoid confusing yourself.)
5
Follow Just One Strategy
You might decide to follow one particular horse, greyhound, basketball or football
team.
Or…
Follow just one nation in, say, an international cricket or football competition
Follow just one team in a national cricket or football competition, for example
6
HORSE BETTING STRATEGIES
Preamble
These strategies are for place betting Plans, using Compound Magic PRO.
Common sense can help you in your decision making: so avoid competitive
handicaps, heavy and soft ground and extreme distance jumps events.
Also avoid certain race types such as maiden hurdles, maidens, and handicaps.
Stick to small fields (ideally 8-runners to take advantage of the payout for 3 places)
Focus on the place-only market (or low win prices) which is what CMPro was
particularly designed for.
Different Plans
Run one for each Track on the day
7
The 2-Horse Race
Run a Plan for the first two in the betting forecast. It works well most of the time.
Example:
Favourite: 1.60
F2: 4.20
F3: 13.75
The rest are from, say, 21.50 upwards
We will bet the 2nd Favourite for a PLACE, as long as it is 1.50 minimum.
8
The 3-Horse Race
We’re looking for races between 8 and 12 runners.
Avoid competitive races
Avoid handicaps
Example:
Favourite: 3.10
F2: 3.90
F3: 4.75
The rest are from, say, 17.00 upwards
We will bet the 2nd Favourite and/or 3rd Favourite for a PLACE, if the place dividend
is 1.50 minimum.
Go through the cards race by race and make a note of all forecast favourites who are
priced at 3/1 or lower in the betting forecast found at the bottom of the card.
Pay special attention to those races where there is a noticeable price gap between the
1st and 2nd favourites in the betting forecast.
Example:
Betme is the favourite in the betting forecast at 4/6.
The second horse, Maybe, is priced at 5/1
We have a noticeable gap between the pair.
If Betme was priced at 6/4 and the second-named horse in the betting forecast was
priced at 5/2, the prices are quite close.
Give Betme+1 point and give Maybe zero.

FOOTBALL RESEARCH
Past statistics and trends can be good pointers to future performance in the goal
scoring/goals conceded markets.
Soccerstats: A superb resource site for all major world leagues, covering all goal
specific statistics imaginable
NB: at the time of writing this (Nov 2013) the site is NOT FireFox-friendly. Use
either Chrome or IE.
Betdevil: For independent ratings this free site is unbeatable. It offers a ratings tool
for every just about every match in Europe.
As the site says: “…match analysis on 110 leagues, 85 cups in 55 countries, plus all
international matches and cup competitions. That’s 33,000+ matches annually.”
Teams’ actual websites: Ideal for determining any injuries or absences or changes in
team news which can affect potential goal-scoring.

FOOTBALL SELECTIONS
Preamble
Football (and in-running football) can offer some good opportunities for bets with
highly likely outcomes.
To help guide your selections, you could do a lot worse than to take note of Mr
Keeling’s almost daily, extensive Football Research notes:
http://www.whatreallywinsmoney.co.uk/category/football/
Examples:
The Big 4 in England
Olympiacos and Panathinaikos in Greece
12
Fenerbahcae and Galatasaray in Turkey
Lyon in France
Bayern Munich in Germany
Barcelona in Spain
Performance Checks
www.soccerstats.com is but one of many sites which can show you a team’s
performance over a season.
Teams heading the HOME WINS tables at www.soccerstats.com tend to win the
majority of their matches, especially if priced at 2/5 or lower.
Barcelona are not always 2/5 or shorter at home, especially when Real Madrid are in
town.
Between them you’ll find plenty of home fixtures, plenty of short prices (ideally less
than 1 / 2 or 4/9 at home) and a high strike rate of wins at home.
Only bet the favourite if the favourite’s odds are X points below the competing team
BACK the team as per usual (in an in-running football match on Betfair) and look to
trade out after the team score the first goal (which is usually the case).
13
GREYHOUNDS
The principle is based on identifying possible improvers, and then using the market as
a guide to the dogs identified by the strategy.
Method
Placed Points
1 1 point
2 2 points
3 3 points
4+ 10 points
In the example below, look at the first dog listed: Kanga Whiz. The extreme right is
where the last 3 places are shown.
We add the points for the places77 = 10+10 = 20, then add points for 78 = 10+10 =
20
The 20-20 is interpreted as: poor performance without improvement.
In Australia, we bear in mind boxes 1, 2 and 8 are statistically the best ones. This site
is excellent for state and box breakdowns: http://www.hotdogs.com.au/statistics
14
Example 1
1 20-20
2 12-12
3 12-13
42 improver, poor trap
5 3-4 good performer despite a poor trap
6 20-20
7 20-20
8 11-13

Example 2
With the market as our guide 1 and 2 are our selections and…

Example 3

Example 4
1 13-13
2 scr
3 20-12 improver, poor box
4 20-13 improver, poor box
5 13-20
6 4-12
7 20-20
8 20-13 improver, good box
9 6-13
3 4 and 8. We’ll go with 8 – improver, in a good box and the market says Yes.
A good decision

TENNIS STRATEGIES
Fixtures

Research
To help guide your selections, you could do a lot worse than to take note of Mr
Keeling’s extensive Tennis research notes:
http://www.whatreallywinsmoney.co.uk/category/tennis/
Selection Strategies
There are, of course, dozens of methods to bet on tennis.
But here is a quick, easy and effective strategy, based on the price-gaps between the
Favourite and the opponent.
Strategy 1
Step 1: Consider matches where the favourite is paying a minimum of 1.50
Step 2: And the difference between the favourite and the outsider should be 0.50 or
over.
Strategy 2
We’re looking for a close gap between the two players.

Rule 1
Eliminate the game where:
Remember that every baseball team face some long losing streaks as well as long
winning streaks.
21
Rule 2
Eliminate games where the price for the underdog is over 2.50
Rule 3
Eliminate games where the underdog is facing a very good pitcher.
If they’re facing a pitcher in the top 20 of the MLB, move on to another selection.
