Dear Stacey Barret,

While looking online I came across the position for a toddler child care teacher and would love
to be able to set up and interview for this position. I have always been interested in not only
helping children meet the normal milestone goals but helping them learn about themselves
through Christ. Based on your views in the ways you nurture your students, I believe that my
educational skills and faith in God would be a great benefit to your team. While looking to find
someone to teach children the skills they need isn’t so difficult I believe that my faith could help
bring forth each child’s potential that the center is looking to accomplish.

After viewing the available position online, I decided to look on your website for more insight.
When looking at your Infant and Toddler program page one can see this center knows that this
is the age where children are learning and developing the most. While attending a vocational
school for half the school day my junior and senior year we learned all about how much
knowledge a child obtains in their first few years of life. This knowledge helped us to plan our
own week as head teacher for the daycare program we ran our junior year. In fact, while most
of the students were only head teacher for one week, I was able to showcase my skills for two
weeks. This experience as a head teacher will help me to have the basic knowledge on how to
write and implement lesson plans in a class room so that much training isn’t required.

The job website states that the center is looking for a teacher who intentionally engages with
children through fine motor, large motor, creative art, and general play. Not only do I enjoy
spending time playing with any child, I know what is needed to help with those fine and large
motor skills. The early childhood program at the vocational school taught us that children have
different developmental skills and there are different ways you can help develop them. Our
senior year we ran a preschool program which was a lot more work that our daycare program.
Not only did we have to be a head teacher with a specific theme, our lesson plans had to
revolve around developing those skills. We were challenged to actually create our activities to
fit those skills and our weekly theme rather than just find them in a book or online. My
knowledge on the different developmental areas, how to look for kids struggling with them,
and how to work on those skills will help the program to reach their goals of helping each
individual family’s needs.

Little Lambs Children’s Center is a great company that provides the needs of all growing
children, and I would like to discuss with you how my experience would be a great addition for
your team. I will be contacting the center during this week, but if any immediate questions arise
please feel free to contact me at, (716) 867-5309 or email me at jmart273@asu.edu. I look
forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you for taking the time to review my letter.

Sincerely,

Jhenna Martini-Plumley
