SUBSTITUTE PLANS
TIME ALLOTMENT ACTIVITY
10-15 minutes SILENT READING
15-20 minutes BELL RINGER : Black binder and green plastic folder
They DO NOT write in these.
 These are for each class.
 They will only work on ONE assigned page for the day on a separate sheet
of paper all on one sheet.

Todays ASSIGNED PAGES:

~ BLACK BINDER: Week _____ Day ______
~ GREEN D.O.L. Folder: Week _____ Day ______

25 minutes INDEPENDENT WORKSHEETS/PACKET

Read Silently
LIBRARY DAYS

They can go to the library on their library day and on Fridays. Fridays are optional.

NOTE 1:
We have bathroom teachers. You won’t have to worry about taking them to the bathroom.
However, after lunch and during lockers with the 2nd class, I allow those who are not scheduled to go to
their lockers to go to the bathroom and vice versa. I call either top lockers (bottom bathroom) and then call
bottom lockers (top bathroom).
NOTE 2:
The last class period may need
encouragement at the end of the day during locker time to keep quiet voices right before dismissal time.
They are putting everything away and “release” their end of the day energy. If it becomes a problem, you
can have something for them to do while the others are going to lockers putting all of their things away or
read to them, or play soft music, or something .

CHARACTER EDUCATION – SELF CONTROL

MONDAY
Never let your emotions overpower your intelligence.

Don't give up what you want most, for what you want now.
TUESDAY
No one was ever named "Hero" for following the crowd.

Heroes set their own course.
