Op Amp Applications2

This document discusses non-sinusoidal oscillators such as astable multivibrators and monostable multivibrators. It describes their circuit design and operation, and provides simulation examples of astable and monostable multivibrators generating square waves. The document also covers function generators that can produce triangular, sawtooth and other waves using circuits based on the 555 timer and XR2206 and LM566 function generator ICs. Key specifications and features of the XR2206 and LM566 ICs are also summarized.

Function Generator and VCO (contd.,)
—  VCO is an important building block in a Phase Locked Loop.
—  A function generator is an oscillator which produces square wave,
triangular wave, rectangular wave with specific duty cycle and saw
tooth.
—  It can also output sine wave by converting the triangular wave to
sine wave using diode function generator.
—  It is the VCO circuit that was discussed earlier XR2206, function
generator IC manufactured by EXAR that is popularly used in all
test oscillators in laboratories today.
