JOB DESCRIPTION
This is an unpaid internship assisting Stormwater Engineering with their efforts to document past floods
LOCATION
• 700 Wood Street (USC-Utilities Service Center)
PRIMARY ACTIVITIES
As the Stormwater Engineering Intern you will gain experience in project layout, communications with multiple
disciplines, and ArcGIS. The project includes organizing, cataloging, and geo-referencing photos from past
flood events. The project will consist of meeting with multiple City departments (Capital Improvements, Streets,
Natural Areas, etc.) to collect photos then organizing, cataloging and uploading the photos into GIS.
EXPECTATIONS
• Strong writing, communication, research skills and professional presence.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and internet search engines.
• Responsible, organized, detail-oriented, motivated and creative with the ability to work independently
and multi-task.
• Interest in GIS, Water Resources, Floodplain, Natural Areas
