III. Rationale
Nowadays many people use markers but when it goes empty we just throw it
away and buy a new one and the routine goes on. By doing this, we just add more
waste and do not help in solving our problem of garbage disposal.
a.) The researchers noticed that after the markers go empty we just dispose it
not minding that we are reducing the possibility to solve the problem of
garbage disposal.
b.) The researchers want to know the effectiveness of using food coloring as
substitute ink for empty markers to help reduce waste by not throwing away
empty markers.
IV. Materials
Oil
Empty marker
Food coloring
Newspaper
Straw
Plastic palette/plate
V. Procedure
1) Get some oil and rub it onto the plate. Make sure it is not many.
2) Wash the plate. Make sure that there is some oil in the plate or its oily.
3) Put drops of food coloring on the plate and mix it using the straw.
4) Get the foam or the inside of the marker where the ink is from.
5) Use the foam of the marker to get the color.
6) Test the foam if it is writing.
7) Put the foam back inside the marker and test.
8) If it is writing then your marker is done.
VI. Implication
Its importance is once the marker works it will help us lessen the waste we
produce and also helps us save money by not buying markers every time it runs
out of ink.
