Chisel New

Chisel is a familiar carpentry tool made of hardened steel with a sharp tip angled between 35-60 degrees. It is used to chop softer materials like wood, stone, and metal. There are five main types of chisels - cross cut for tight spaces, flat for metalwork, cold for metal sheet and bolts, dam for pre-drilled holes, and oil slot for machine parts. Proper carving requires a chisel, hammer, vice, safety gear, and workpiece. The process involves preparing the material, selecting a chisel, clamping the workpiece, wearing safety gear, positioning the chisel and hammer, and notching the workpiece to shape it.
