This proposal seeks to examine the relationship between Alternative Learning School (ALS) graduates' achievement in mathematics and their performance in a collegiate mathematics course. The study aims to determine if higher achievement in mathematics in ALS correlates with better performance in "Mathematics in the Modern World". It also intends to help strengthen basic education curriculum and inform the development of support courses. The proposal outlines a correlational research design using documentary analysis and the Pearson correlation coefficient to assess the relationship between the two variables. The respondents will be ALS graduate freshmen enrolled in the designated mathematics course at Don Honorio Ventura State University.

Proposed Topic/Title Correlational Study: The Achievement in
Mathematics of the Graduates of Alternative Learning School and their Performance in one of the general education courses for college freshmen, Mathematics in the Modern World Commented [JLD1]: Ano pong achievement and Motivation of the performance? Anong pagkakaiba po ng mga ito? researcher Masyado pong mahaba ang title. Research Gap This study wants to find out if the students’ achievement in Mathematics from the Alternative The Achievement in Mathematics of the Graduates of Alternative Learning School vis-a-vis their Learning School is related to their performance in Performance in a Collegiate Mathematics Course Mathematics in the Modern World. Commented [JLD2]: Sorry I missed this portion. Please fill this out. Outcomes of this research may be used to strengthen the basic education curriculum of the senior high school. The findings may make way for universities in the development of new curriculum or may add elective courses that are innovative and needed by the students to fill any vacuum of learning. Statement of the Problem Graduates from the Alternative Learning School are privileged to be accepted in the HEI without taking senior high school as per CHED memorandum 10 series of 2018, Policy of Alternative Learning System Completers and Passers of A & E test in relation to the implementation of the K to 12 basic education program. The ALS graduates are merged with other groups of students coming from the different SHS tracks in the subject, Mathematics in the Modern World. The difficulty of giving a similar instruction to Commented [JLD3]: Mam, sa portion na ito you are going a heterogenous group poses a challenge to the to state the research questions. What are the specific questions that you want to be answered in this study. If it is instruction. correlational, your questions are focused on finding significant relationship on your chosen variables. Research Design The correlational research design utilizing documentary analysis will be employed. The Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient will be used to determine the correlation between the students’ achievement of Mathematics in the ALS program and their performance in the subject, Mathematics in the Modern World in the General education course of freshmen students.
Respondents/ Participants The respondents / participants will be the ALS
graduates enrolled as freshmen students of Mathematics in the Modern World in DHVSU Mexico campus.
