Subject: Invitation letter for visa applicant and participant in the Summer University Project of AEGEE in Pisa

Dear Sirs/Madams,

This letter serves as invitation letter for Miss NAME SURNAME who has been officially selected as participant in the
Summer University Project of AEGEE, which will take place between 14.06.2011 and 19.06.2011 in Pisa with the
collaboration of Universitado de Pisa and local government. Please find below the necessary information for issuing the
visa for Miss NAME SURNAME:

We invite Miss NAME SURNAME to participate in our Summer University in Pisa because she is an active member
of the network of AEGEE, a non-profit organization based in Europe (please find the information about our Association
in the Attachment n.1).

Miss NAME SURNAME is going to be part of a group of 25 other students and young professionals from all over
Europe, and will be accompanied by Italian organizers the entire duration of the event (please find the information
about our Local Antennae in the Attachment n.2).
The official programme of the event will consist of 14 days of guided tours in Pisa, Peccioli and S.Gimignano, with
visits to museums, social activities, sport activities, several workshops and a night of cultural exchange and national
cuisines of participants - in general a multilateral sharing of trans-border experiences.

According to AEGEE’s regulation (http://www.commissions.aegee.org/jurcom/) the Italian students that organize this
event are going to provide participants with at least 2 meals a day (one hot), accommodation at Hostel Pisa (Via
Corridoni n.29, 56125 - Pisa – telephone number 050 520 1841, www.hostelpisa.it), medical insurance and a complete
program of activities for the hole period of their stay in Italy. All participants will pay participation fee of 180 EUR.

On the basis of what was stated above, we would be grateful if you issue Schengen Visa for Miss NAME SURNAME
as soon as possible, for a longer period of time (due to individual ticketing) and free of charge, taking into
consideration that the Summer University Project is part of an educational and cultural experience for youth, organized
by our non-profit organization and based on the volunteer activities of its members, and taking into account
following parts of the EU regulation for visa fees, that we post down here in a pure collaborative spirit:

- In accordance with Article 6 of “Facilitation Agreement with Equilibria” (Official Journal of the European Union
L.332 of 18.12.2007) fees for processing the visa application are waived for the following categories:
Art. 6 – (h) Person participating in scientific, cultural and artistic activities including university and other
exchange programs.

- In accordance with Article 16 – point 4, commas (b) and (d) and point 5, comma(c) of “Visa Code” established in
the “Regulation (EC) No. 810/2009”: the visa fee shall be waived for applicants belonging to one of the following
categories:
Art.16 – 4, (b) school pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for
the purpose of study or educational training;
Art.16 – 4, (d) representatives of non-profit organisations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars,
conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organised by non-profit organisations.
and may be waived for applicants belonging to one of the following categories:
Art.16 – 5, (c) participants aged 25 years or less in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events,
organised by non-profit organisations.

AEGEE-EUROPE INFORMATION:

AEGEE –Association des Etats Genereaux des Etudiants de l’Europe– is the largest interdisciplinary non-profit
students’ association in Europe, with its headquarters in Brussels (AEGEE-Europe, rue Nestor de Tière 15, 1030
Brussels, Belgium, Tel: +32 2 246 0320, Fax: +32 2 246 0329). It is present in more than 196 university cities
throughout 41 countries all around Europe.
Created 20 years ago, AEGEE has been working on a regular basis with the European Commission on implementing
projects and is consulted on themes related to the students, and particularly to the SOCRATES program. AEGEE is also
recognized and has Consultative Status in the Council of Europe and UNESCO.

AEGEE-Europe is supported by a wide range of institutions on a European and on a national level:

AEGEE – PISA INFORMATION:

AEGEE - PISA, the European Students’ Forum in Leuven, is an acknowledged member of LOKO, the student council of
the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. It was founded in 1992 and officially registered as non-profit association (VZW)
since 2005. It currently has over 50 members and is run by a board of 8 students of different disciplines. Each year it
organizes many debates, student exchanges, trainings and conferences related to the topic of Europe. It is supported by
the European Commission through the Youth in Action programme.
AEGEE – PISA organizes yearly Summer Universities where a diverse group of carefully selected participants gets the
opportunity to study Belgian culture and languages. AEGEE-Leuven provides the participants with accommodation,
food and a complete programme of activities.
