 Provides introductory summary that describe the setting and purpose of interaction. (5%)
 Provides chronological, easy to follow record of the interaction. (5%)
 Includes non-verbal behaviours for client/nurse. (5%)
 Consists of actual statements by client/nurse. (5%)
Analysis (50%)
 Labels correctly each technique used by the nurse (5%)
 Notes if communication technique used was therapeutic or nontherapeutic. (5%)
 Identifies rationale for communication technique used by the nurse. (5%)
 Reflects on the impact of own beliefs, values and feelings on communication process. (5%)
 Discuss the choice of techniques in relation to client response and state goal of the interaction. (10%)
 Evaluates stage of the relationship and its impact on the communication process. (5%)
 Integrates relevant theoretical concepts in discussion to support rationale. (5%)
 Discuss the patient behaviour based on patient’s verbalization. (5%)

 Uses correct spelling, grammar, and terminology.
 Uses designated format per guidelines.

 Presents information clearly and in a logical sequence.
 Cites references using APA format.
