DESIGN OF SEPTIC TANK

Septic Tank Flow Chart

Start

Determine the quantity of sewage

flow per person per day.

Source: PLUMBING By: Max Fajardo

Determine the volume of the septic tank:

V= multiply the determined quantity of sewage flow to number of person

Assume 1.2 m width per 100 person

Solve:

Length of septic tank, ʅ

FOR MANSORY
1. Get the perimeter and area
Perimeter 44.2 m
Area 88.4 mm^2

2. Number of Concrete Hollow Blocks (1 sq.m. = 12.5 pcs. Of CHB)

No. of Pieces of 1105

CHB: say: 1110 PCS

3. Volume of the Chamber bottom flooring

V=10.2 x 0.1 x 5.3 V= 5.406 cu.m

4. Volume of CHB footing for Leaching Well

V=0.1 x perimeter of leaching well x 0.30 therefore V= 0.468 cu.m

5. Volume for concrete cover

V= 11.22 cu.m

6. Total Volume of Concrete

V= 17.09 cu.m

7. Using Class A cement:

cement 8 xV = 136.72 bags

sand 0.5 x V = 8.545 cu.m
gravel 1 xV = 17.09 cu.m

8. CHB Mortar

1550 CHB X 0.0733= 113.615 SAY 114 BAGS OF CEMENT

1550 CHB X 0.0070= 10.85 SAY 11 cu.m of sand

10. Solve for Plaster

The area to be plastered inside the chamber:

[(10*2)+(10.6*2)] x 2 82.4 sq.m.

82.4 x 0.33 = 28 Bags of cement

82.4 x 0.048 = 4 cu.m. of sand
