Many students are very nervous when presenting for the first time.

“There are only two types of speakers in the world: the nervous and the liars”
(Mark Twain).

Here are a few ideas to avoid nervousness:


 Smile. People like presenters who smile because they look relaxed and

friendly.

 Breathe. It keeps you calm.

 Be prepared. Practice makes perfect.

 Be organized. A well structured presentation will improve your confidence.

 Slow down. Nervous presenters speak quickly and can easily get confused.

 Public speakers get nervous. The skill is using the tips to avoid showing
how nervous you are.
