    Happy Naraka Chaturdasi, Happier Deepavali and Happiest Acharya Thirunakshthram


    celebrations to you all !!

    On the Naraka chaturdasi day, we will have abhyangana sna:nam( head bath) and distribute sweets
    (madhura padartham) to our friends, relatives and belovedones.Ofcourse people in India will light the
    crackers to celebrate Krishna's victory over Narakasura. In some places people will preapare narakasura
    prathima with grass and crackers and kill him using the fire weapon.

    On Deepavali day evening everybody will worship Divine mother Lakshmi to get all sorts of wealth
    through out the year. I hope everybody try to prepare new varieties of prasadams every year. In the
    same way let us try to do The Lakshmi puja also in a new way. According to our Vedic tradition people
    worship Goddess Lakshmi with Srisu:ktha namavali. Let us follow that tradition. Here is the process for
    you!

    Sri: su:ktha vidha:ne:na Lakshmi Puja:

    start with Achamanam : Take water in to your right hand folding the thumb first and then
    pointed finger (go:karna mudra), while saying the namas below swallow the water three
    times separately

    O:m anantha:ya namaha
    O:m govinda:ya Namaha Wash your hand, do namaskara.

    Now let us pray with dhya:na sloka, while chanting meditate upon Divine mother Lakshmi

    E:kam nyanchyan athi kshamam mama parancha a:kunchya pa:da:mbujam


    Madhye: vishtara pundari:kam abhayam vinyastha hastha:mbujam
    Thwa:m pasye:ma nishe:dushi:m prathikalam ka:runya ku:lankasha
    Spha:ra:pa:nga tharangam amba madhuram mugdham mukham bibhrathi:m

    While chanting this slokam let us visualise in our heart..

    Let us do sankalpam holding your left palm horizontally, close with the right hand vertically
    and keep on our right thigh …..

    pa:dayo:ho pa:dyam samarpaya:mi (Offer water twice to the divine lotus feet)

    a:chamani:yam samarpaya:mi (Offer water thrice to the mouth to drink)
