    PROVINCIAL/CITY/MUNICIPAL NUTRITION COMMITTEE RESOLUTION

    Resolution No. ___, Series of 20___

    Approving and Adopting the Provincial City/Municipal Nutrition Action Plan for 2020-2022 of
    ______

    WHEREAS, maternal and child under and overnutrition continue to be of alarming levels in the
    Philippines, in Region 1 and the Province of Pangasinan as reported by the National Nutrition
    Surveys conducted by the Food and Nutrition Research Institute;

    WHEREAS, the nutrition profile of ________ indicated by the 2019 Operation Timbang Plus
    results revealed serious cases of stunting with a prevalence of 8.3% affecting 1,252 under five
    years old children;

    WHEREAS, among the same age group, 5.8 % or 877 children were wasted and 7.3 % or 1,110
    were overweight/obese. Wasting and overweight/obesity in ________ are considered public
    health problems using the WHO cut off points on severity and magnitude;

    WHEREAS, these serious cases of malnutrition have negative impact on the overall health and
    development and learning potentials of children in later years and leads to less productive lives
    as adults, and affects their ability to ensure the overall well-being of future families in _______;

    WHEREAS, Province/City/Municipality formulated the ______ Local Nutrition Action Plan for
    2020-2022 as a response to these alarming malnutrition problem and is consistent with the
    Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition 2017-2022, the Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition of
    Region 1 and is aligned with the over-all vision of the Province of Pangasinan;

    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, in consideration of the


    foregoing, we the members of the Provincial/City/Municipal Nutrition Committee as the
    counterpart body of the National Nutrition Council at the city/municipal level do hereby
    approve and adopt the Local Nutrition Action Plan (LNAP) 2020-2022 of ______;

    RESOLVED FURTHER, that members of the Provincial/City/Municipal Nutrition Committee


    commit to pursue the programs and projects in the Plan, ensure availability of resources
    including related budgetary requirements and submit related physical and financial
    accomplishments;

    RESOLVED FURTHER, for the Provincial/City/Municipal Nutrition Office to ensure that the plan
    is disseminated as widely as possible to enable stakeholders to align their efforts along the
    priority concerns;

    RESOLVED FURTHER, for the City Nutrition Office in coordination with relevant units of the City
    Government to facilitate the formulation of annual operational plans thereafter;
    RESOLVED FURTHER, for the City Nutrition Office to monitor and to ensure the full
    implementation of this resolution.
